A big shout out to Chief and her trademark rainbow curly wig!

We’re incredibly lucky to have so many amazing members who jump in to help lead and support our cheer squad throughout the year and we’d love to recognise one of our regular contributors, Chief.

This photo was taken before Run Melbourne last weekend……well before sunrise, in the freezing cold, before most people had even arrived. After volunteering all day at a Trails Plus event the day before, she was out bright and early to cheer on our runners with her usual enthusiasm and energy.

Thank you, Chief for always bringing the colour, the encouragement and the smiles. We really appreciate everything you do! ❤️💙

Sometimes things don't go to plan... and they end up even better!

After missing out on a half marathon entry at the Gold Coast Running Festival, Chris and Melissah Cashen headed north for the Cairns Running Festival instead.

It turned out to be a pretty good decision! Melissah absolutely smashed her half marathon PB, taking an incredible 7 minutes off her previous best. A huge shout out to Chris as well, who paced her the whole way and helped her achieve her best half marathon yet.

Massive congratulations to you both! It's always great seeing our LRC members chasing their goals, making the most of every opportunity, and coming home with something to celebrate. Well done, Cashens!

A huge congratulations to the Parris family on celebrating an incredible 10 years of parkrun!

What better place to mark such a special milestone than at Victory Road Reserve parkrun? It seems like the perfect fit!

Pictured are Ali, Jamie and Jess, with Jess set to officially celebrate her own 10-year parkrun anniversary this September. What an amazing family achievement and such a wonderful example of the friendships, memories and healthy habits that parkrun creates.

Here's to many more Saturday mornings, milestone shirts, finish line smiles and years of celebrating together. Congratulations, Parris family!

Dirk successfully completed the epic Challenge Roth 2026 Triathlon in Germany this past weekend! This incredible event, known as the home of triathlon, saw nearly 4,600 athletes from over 110 nations tackling the gruelling 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling, and 42.2 km run.

Dirk's journey to the finish line was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite facing a major setback with a lung embolism earlier this year, Dirk pushed through with immense determination and courage.

From battling leg cramps in the swim to navigating rain-soaked roads during the bike leg, and overcoming blisters and cuts in the run, Dirk showed relentless spirit by finishing the race strong and proud.

The atmosphere was electric, with thousands cheering on all athletes. For the full, inspiring tale of Dirk's triathlon adventure, you can read the complete blog on the LRC website: https://lalorrunningclub.com.au/blog/f/overcoming-obstacles-challenge-roth-2026

Congratulations to all of our LRC members who made the trip north to the sunny Gold Coast for the 2026 Gold Coast Running Festival!

What an incredible weekend it was, with LRC members represented across every event—from the 5km right through to the mighty Marathon, with some even taking on multiple events!

For some, it was another crack at conquering the marathon. For others, it was an unforgettable first marathon finish. No matter the distance or the goal, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

A huge shout-out also goes to those who weren't racing but were out on the course cheering, encouraging and supporting our runners every step of the way. Your energy makes all the difference!

To top off a fantastic weekend, many of us came together for a celebratory dinner at Clocks in Surfers Paradise, sharing stories, laughs and well-earned meals.

Congratulations to everyone involved. We're so proud of each and every one of you!

📸 Here are a few happy snaps from the weekend.

Missing from the dinner photo: David Hamilton.

Tony and Anna headed down to the Barwon Heads Running Festival on the weekend and enjoyed a fantastic day on the Surf Coast and a nice little getaway as well.

The inaugural festival featured a flat, scenic coastal out and back course along Thirteenth Beach Road, with plenty of fresh ocean air and beautiful seaside views throughout. It was a great morning for running and a fantastic event for runners of all abilities.

Well done, Tony and Anna……a great effort from both of you! ❤️💙

A very special achievement for Jen, completing her first half marathon at the Edinburgh Half Marathon!!

This run carried extra meaning, done in honour of her dad and the love of running he passed on to her. Combining it with an extended holiday made the experience even more memorable and after months of dedication and training, it was fantastic to see all the hard work pay off.

Congratulations Jen on an unforgettable achievement. 🏃‍♀️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a weekend at the Albury Running Festival – the second edition.

Set along the beautiful Murray River, it was the perfect backdrop for a great day of running and plenty of strong performances from our crew.

Big shoutout to Kaitlyn who completed her THIRD half marathon and to Chris for taking on the 10km event. Also congratulations to Melissah who came away with a shiny new PB! 🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️

So many fantastic events happening lately and it’s awesome seeing our runners out there giving it a crack, supporting each other and enjoying the experience.

Well done everyone ❤️💙
