The regular seasons resumes this week with the 16 Girls kicking off on Friday night at Brimbank, followed by Saturdays matches all being played away. The 8 and 9's will after all be playing teams in a round robin as confirmed by RV over at Northern along with the U18's whose game has been changed back to a 12:30pm kick off. Don't forget to check with your team manger for any late changes and to let them know if you're unable to make training. Also note that the 18's game which RV changed to the later kick off of time of 1:30pm has now been changed back by Northern to 12:30pm who will advise RV accordingly.

While this Kings Birthday Weekend provided a general Bye across our competition, the RV Super mens 16 squad travelled across to South Australia to play Western Force running out winners 39 to 22 and the School Boys 18’s travelling to Albury to face the ACT Brumbies losing in a hard fought game 43 to 31. Congratulations to all players including current and former Rhinos Juniors selected in these teams and played on the weekend. We wish ongoing success in your future matches.

We hope everyone have enjoyed this mini break from rugby and it was great to see some of our grades have some bonding time together. Our 14’s and 18’s had light training runs followed by a sit-down dinner on Tuesday and Thursday evenings respectively, with our U11’s on Thursday evening having an inhouse video session of their weekends game which included some much-appreciated hot chocolate while taking in the action on the big screen. Our U12’s went one step further with a pool session at Splash on Friday evening and enjoying a provided meal of pizza, hot chips and soft drinks afterwards. All players were appreciative of those who organised and provided their meals and refreshments and hats off to the coach's and team management for making these sessions possible. We look forward to all of our teams getting back into full training mode this week as we prepare for the resumption of games across all grades this week.

A special mention to our Under 12 team who will be travelling to Shepparton to play their Round 5 game against Shepparton/Northern. Our club acknowledges the players and their families who are making the 6 hour round trip to participate in Shepparton's Gala Day of Rugby. We wish them all sa afe travel up, safe return and the best of luck in their game. A special mention to their Coach and Manageress, Sonny and Lidia in making sure this game went ahead along with the support of the parents and families. Our U11, U12 and U16 female youth grades continued their season run recording wins in their respective games, while our U16's and U18's fell short in their matches. Our U8 and U9 grades by all reports again produced some tremendous junior rugby as they continue to show how they are improving each week under the watchful eye of Coach Henno (U8) and Coach Mel (U9). A thank you to the volunteers who helped with our home game set up and pack up, along with those who did such a great job in running the BBQ and helping Kath out in the canteen throughout the 2 home games we held. While this season continues to throw up some challenges which our club acknowledges, travel being one, we are very proud and appreciative of how those affected continue to support our players in ensuring they get to where they need to be regardless of the distance.
You may have noticed the work being done on the training lights upgrade during this week which we are now excited to advise have been fully completed - We understand this upgrade to LED lighting increases the already 120 lux in now exceeding 150 Lux. This along with 2 additional training lights now illuminating part of Field 3 further enhances our ground and allows us to share the wear on each field on training nights throughout the season.
