Finally got to gift a ball to for his generous gift of the Collingwood Forever book he sent to my daughter.
Nice to talk footy with you and discuss your future endeavours 👌
Fourth generation football maker, Syd Sherrin, handcrafts footballs to order and prints individual names on them, using the same techniques as Tom Sherrin.
In 1858 English rugby balls were used for Australian Rules Football. They were continually repaired by Tom Sherrin, a saddler by trade. With foresight and ingenuity, he designed a football in 1879 that had similar characteristics to the rugby ball. This design was better suited to Australian Rules Football and was widely accepted. Todays football specification have only been altered marginally sin

Lenny is an 11 year old who in 2023 picked up a double bacterial infection and from this, ended up being very unwell. His hair fell out and he was diagnosed with Alopecia.
Lenny is raising awareness for childhood alopecia and all money raised will be donated to AAAF - Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation -Wigs for Kids.
I have donated a personalised Syd Sherrin football to support the cause.
Lenny is doing magical things and is a force to be reckoned with. Check out the link below to donate and support Lenny and all the other children affected by this!

40 Illawarra Road, Hawthorn….. The house where we grew up.
Many parties and Christmas’ were enjoyed here. A real family home with my brother Geoff and sister Isobel. We still have a lot of cherished memories from the time spent in this house.
On the weekend, my brother and I went and had a look at the house as it is now. It has been renovated so much since we left in 1976.
The house goes to auction later this month.

My Great Grandfathers brother, Tom Sherrin, was one of six directors of Britannia FC that founded the magnificent Collingwood Football Club in 1892. For his service to the club, he was awarded the very first Number One membership of this historic football club.
Six generations later, my grandson, Tom Sherrin, was very impressed to see this amazing part of his family history.

My grandfather, Syd Sherrin, served on the committee of the Collingwood Football Club for 30 years. During that time, the Pies won 8 Premierships.
During the historic run of 4 Premierships in a row, 1927, 1928 , 1929 and 1930, Syd Sherrin was vice president of the Collingwood Football Club.

Tom Sherrin, and Lou Richards were life long mates, going back to the time when they both regularly attended the Collingwood Town Hall on Saturday dance nights. They would compete against one another to see who would get the first dance on such a popular evening for Collingwood supporters.
Present day, Tom Sherrins great grandson, Little Tom Sherrin introduces himself to the great Lou Richard’s outside the home of the Collingwood Football Club.

On the day of the unfurling of the 2023 premiership flag, myself and my grandson, Tom Sherrin, gaze at the glorious 16 premiership cups on display at the home of the Collingwood Football Club.
I am very proud to be a part of the Sherrin Family. A family of Collingwood supporters since 1892.
Looking forward to attending tonight’s unfurling and celebrating our amazing club 🏳️🖤🤍
