Another great night (Week 5) in the BBC Super 6s. Rags to Riches are close to cementing their place in the Finals with 4 other sides all vying for the 3 finals spots with 2 rounds to go.

The big fella fell agonisingly short today with Lynne in the final of the Over 60s Mixed Pairs.

A great game with Col & Lynne getting out to a slender lead which was pegged back and going into the last end at 10-10 they finished up a shot down on the last.
Two years running is a massive achievement and a great tournament again.

And…. Col managed to have a new Berwick BC tournament shirt designed while he was away which he proudly wore today 😂

We kick off the Mixed Pairs final with 2025 runners-up Lynne Wood and Colin Veenendaal taking on Heathmont pair Robyn Anketell and Stephen Coles.

Next up we've got the Women's Pairs finals with Claire Smyth and Kate Bush taking on Moama pair Marilyn Stephenson and Robyn Thomassen.

The great man Colin Veenendaal will be up tomorrow on livestream at 9am in the semi finals of the over 60s Mixed Pairs with Narre’s Lynne Wood.

The last batch of quarterfinal games have been played! Let's start off with the Mixed Pairs.

Gayle Edwards and Brendan Barker had a 7 shot win over Ocean Grove's Jen Le Cerf and Alan Drury. They'll play 2025 runners-up Lynne Wood and Colin Veenendaal on the livestream tomorrow morning after their 5 shot win against Gayle Kerr and Gregg Chapple.

Susan Evans and Frank Dalton secured their spot in the semi-final with a 5 shot win over the Torquay pair of Lauryn Plant and Brian Calthorpe. They play Heathmont pair Robyn Anketell and Stephen Coles after their 1 shot win against Alison Hall and Ray Jansen.

Now let's cover the Men's Pairs. Hill Top's Mark Bentley and Russell Locke had a 9 shot win against Bendigo East's Steve O'Bree and Rob Clough. They play Ocean Grove's Mick West and Alan Drury after their 13 shot win overt the Mentone pair Garry King and Alan Jolly.

Barry Ferguson and Geoff Kirk bested the Murray Downs duo Matt O'Bree and Brian Lehmann 15-8. They'll meet Brunswick's Steven Loney and Ian Ewing in the semi-final, after their 17-9 win over Paul Mahoney and Ian Berry.

Super 6s Week 3 has been completed and we still have 6 teams that will battle it out for finals spots. The teams just out of reach are fielding development players that all will benefit from this format going into the future.
Apart from some great bowls last night, there was a highlight of a "senior player" delivering two wrong biases on the night. This author can not ever recall seeing him bowl one over 20 years.
