Four big games out west for your Sunday

12/06/2026

Deb Loughnan embodies fierceness, determination and fair play. This weekend, we mark our 2026 contact co-captain’s 100th game and salute a stalwart for her sporting accomplishment.

Deb is a hard-running forward who provides an avenue to goal that has seen the Muddies off to an incredible flying start in 2026 (and a record for most points kicked in a game). Her leadership as co-captain has helped us enhance our culture, embodied in the three words: Respect, Empowerment, and Joy. She sets the standard high and works to support her teammates to achieve.

Congratulations, Deb, and we are honoured to mark this milestone with you!

15 years after bringing up her 100 game milestone with Melbourne University, Kate Francis has hit the big 150.

Our inaugural contact captain, a great leader and one of the most dependable footballers going around. Kate’s passion for growing our game and making it truly a sport for all has seen her play a pivotal role in not just l the Muddies contact team off the ground, but also this year driving the establishment our inaugural non contact team and taking on coaching the team.

Kate plays her football with care and kindness, whilst being a true competitor, extremely disciplined and one of the best contested marks in the competition. There is nothing more comforting than seeing the opposition on the attack, with Kate Francis ready to intercept off half back.

Our culture and how we play our footy owes a lot to Kate Francis and we cannot wait to celebrate this amazing milestone with her. AFL Masters Vic Metro

Four weeks without a game has the Muddies absolutely buzzing to get out there on Saturday. With milestones galore to celebrate - see where we play and how we line up 🤍

This weekend Coach Peita Price brings up her 100th game milestone and we are so excited to celebrate.

Peita played a huge role in getting the women’s Muddies team off the ground, leads with passion, care, great humour and is a true champion of footy for fun.

On field she is fearless, throwing herself into every contest, always getting possession and then sticking out that tongue and doing serious damage. She sets the standard with her effort and endeavour but also her fairness and great spirit.

Peita has played in and coached many teams and we know that every single person along that journey has been touched by Peita’s love for the game and her teammates.

Congratulations Peita - we are so glad you are a Muddie 🖤🤍👅

The women’s contact team was due to their sole home fixture on Saturday, but unfortunately they received a walk over.

Instead, we hosted for a non contact “Footy Rush” scratch match - a truly inclusive game for those who want to give footy a crack but not want the tackling.

It was a great game, played in awesome spirit and included some guest appearances from Chelsea our team manager, and Vae our assistant coach. It also marked the return from injury for Danielle and Steffi and we were so happy to have them both back ❤️

Our amazing coach Peita was due to play her 100th this weekend, which will now turn into a two round celebration - which is so thoroughly deserved- but more on that soon 👅

In the hunt all day, but unfortunately we didn’t come away with the chocolates. Despite the results, it was a great triple header at home and we thank our dedicated vollies for keeping the place humming
