Benalla yard dog competitor Dale Thompson notched up his fourth win in the prestigious Hypro Group Murray Valley Yard Dog Championships at the 2025 Henty Machinery Field Days. The championships were held over September 23-25 and drew a record 180 entries from throughout NSW and Victoria in the maiden, novice, improver and open events. Children’s book author and dog trainer Catherine Raines, Cootamundra, with her dog Lokabe Indi, launched her newest book at Country Lifestyle called the Clever Kids Guide to Living with Dogs. Catherine went on to place in the open trial of the Murray Valley Yard Dog Championships on Thursday.

The youngest ever winner in the Hypro Group Murray Valley Yard Dog Championships at Henty has earmarked his winnings to restore an old Holden ute and build a lawnmower. Thomas Lee, 11, was one of 69 entrants in the Delta Livestock Maiden class on September 23 and trumped them all on a score of 97 points with his dog The Lees Choice. The Bromar Engineering Pty Ltd Novice is underway with yesterday's Maiden winner, Tommy Lee, out on course.

The Delta Livestock Maiden has been run and won by 11yr old Tommy Lee!! A very popular winner and the youngest ever here at Henty Machinery Field Days. Tommy was also awarded the stockmanship award sponsored by Kambah Poll Merinos and Grovers Country Clothing by our judge Dayne West.
