We are moving to Port Macquarie in May (for kids, trees, nature, surfing and ecology) but visiting s/e melb at least once a year. Hopefully starting some kids/apprentice/community climbing programs, and other adventures. Thanks for all the gifts, chats, cups of tea, and tree work over the past month :)

The Australian and Melbourne Arb community really put on a show this weekend- and we had 76 new climbers get up in the trees :)

Insurance this year has been put up to over $4K (more than double last year, due to 'inflation') so unfortunately after 8 years of enjoying helping people climb trees we've had to put this program on hold until times change.
It hurts, and it is hard to accept the unfairness, but hopefully something changes with the insurance companies in the near future.
Thanks to everyone who has gotten something out of this, felt connected to nature, learned some cool stuff, had a fun birthday party, or maybe will become an arborist.

After a very large break from tree climbing last year and the start of this year, we are hoping to get some climbing happening again this year....Covid hasn't been a great friend for the planning of group recreational activities :) Still plenty of time for nature, bugs, trees and fun :)

The weather was well-behaved for a few days in Nambour, tree climbing success! What a great group of kids (and parents).

Treeclimbing in Nambour was on today and tomorrow, but due to mudbaths and thunderstorms, the date has been moved to next Thurs and Fri.
Disappointing for us, but the rain will make the farmers and trees happy at least.

Our Story
As a former surfing coach I loved seeing the transformation of people as they felt the freedom and power of the ocean. Despite our increasingly indoor life, humans can still feel at home in nature.
I’m a fully qualified and insured tree climbing instructor and help people of all ages to experience the joy of climbing in trees of all kinds and sizes. It’s a relaxing, freeing experience as an adult to spend time in a tree!
We work with CERES (Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies), many other parks, festivals and schools to support and encourage people to enjoy and interact with nature.

You can join in planned session days and times to climb trees we've selected specially, using tree-friendly Australian Standard Arboriculture climbing practices (all demonstrated by an instructor - no experience is needed for you to climb with us).
Any level fitness is OK too - my 92 yo grandpa loved it, and even 2 yo kids love a swing in a tree! All the gear needed is provided, just wear closed shoes and casual clothes, we recommend pants. Climbing with us is ideal for de-stressing, enjoying a challenge or simply relaxing and being part of nature. Take time out in a tree today - come join us!
