We’re doing something a little different at Highlands Health Club this Saturday, LeAnn is having a well deserved weekend away!

Our fabby new Instructor Ana is taking over both our Saturday morning classes, starting with Hot Pilates at 8am, followed by Zumba Dance Fit at 9am.

If you’ve been curious about either class, this is a great opportunity to come along and give something different a try. Hot Pilates will give you that beautiful combination of strength, control, mobility and a very decent sweat, and then at 9am we’re turning the music up and having some fun with Zumba.

You are absolutely welcome to choose one, but if you’re feeling particularly enthusiastic, stay for both and make a morning of it. 😍

This is just a one-weekend-only change to our usual Saturday timetable, so come and play, move your body, try something new and support Ana as she brings us a fabulous double-header.

This Saturday, 15 August
8am — Hot Pilates with Ana
9am — Zumba Dance Fit with Ana

See you Saturday! 🔥💃

Reading The Highland Woman post this morning made me reflect on something that I think we don’t talk about nearly enough.

We spend years being taught how to read, write and study. We learn how to gain qualifications, build careers, raise families and meet everyone else’s expectations. Yet very few of us are ever taught how to truly care for ourselves. Not in a deep, intentional and purposeful way.

If the people who raised us were never shown how to love and care for themselves, how could they have taught us? Most of us are simply repeating what was modelled to us, often without even realising it.

To me, self-love isn’t a feeling. It isn’t standing in front of a mirror and loving everything you see. Self-love is a decision. It is the conscious choice to care for this incredible physical body that carries you through life.

Sometimes that choice feels beautiful. Other times it feels uncomfortable. It might mean turning up to train when you don’t feel like it. It might mean sore muscles a day or two later because you challenged yourself. It might mean eating the food that nourishes you instead of the food that comforts you, or going to bed earlier when everyone else is still awake.

Love is not always the easiest choice, but it is often the wisest one.

Every time you move your body with purpose, nourish it well, allow it to recover and speak to it with respect, you are casting a vote for the person you are becoming.

Perhaps that is what self-love really is. Not waiting until you feel worthy enough to care for yourself, but choosing to care for yourself so consistently that, one day, you realise you were worthy all along.

Body Love 💛

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to love your body.

For me, it is not just about how I feel when I look in the mirror. It is about how I choose to care for my health, move my body and support myself through every stage.

Sometimes, loving your body starts before you feel completely confident in it. It can simply mean deciding that your body is worthy of care, respect and kindness.

Working with Vania from Highlands Health Club has helped me feel stronger, more confident and more connected to myself.

Every workout, every healthier choice and every small step is a way of saying, “My body matters.”

I’m learning to appreciate my body more every day and celebrate everything it allows me to do.

That is what body love means to me. ✨

Let’s CELEBRATE NAT!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Since January, she has quietly and consistently transformed her body, by doing the simple things extraordinarily well.

📉 In just six months:

✨ 21.8 kg lost
✨ Body fat reduced from 35.8% to 20.9%
✨ 1.7 kg of lean muscle gained
✨ Visceral fat reduced from 5 to 2
✨ 19.5 cm off her waist at the belly button
✨ 13 cm off her hips

These numbers are incredible, but what impresses me is how she achieved them.

Nat never makes a fuss. She simply turns up, follows the plan, trains consistently, and repeats the process… day after day, week after week.

Transformation isn’t built by one incredible workout or one perfect week. It’s built by stacking ordinary habits over an extraordinary length of time.

The excitement of starting something new eventually fades for everyone. That’s the moment that separates doers from donters, average from ELITE.

Nat kept showing up long after the novelty disappeared.

And the beautiful thing is that this transformation isn’t just physical.

Over these six months she’s earned a promotion at work, competed in her first pole competition, trained for her first marathon, and is now preparing for her very first bodybuilding competition in April 2027.

That’s what goals do.

They keep us growing. They ask us to become someone we haven’t yet been. They challenge us, scare us, excite us, and remind us that life is meant to be lived with purpose.

One of the biggest keys to Nat’s success has also been accountability. She WANTS to be held ACCOUNTABLE … for everything.

Every fortnight we sit down together, complete her measurements, review every number, celebrate the wins, identify what needs adjusting, and keep moving forward.

Because numbers don’t lie.

Emotion can fluctuate. Motivation comes and goes. But consistent data allows us to make calm, intelligent decisions and stay focused on the long game.

Nat, I am so incredibly proud of you.

Not simply because of the body you’ve built, but because of the woman you’ve become in the process.

Thank you for trusting me to walk beside you on this journey. It is one of the greatest privileges of my work to help women discover what they are truly capable of.

April 2027… we’re coming. 💪👑

The top three reasons to stay active and physically strong during winter are:

1. It protects your immune system.

Regular exercise improves immune surveillance by helping immune cells circulate more efficiently throughout the body. It also reduces chronic inflammation and improves sleep quality—both of which play an important role in your body’s ability to fight off winter viruses. Moderate, consistent exercise is associated with fewer respiratory infections and often milder symptoms if you do become unwell.

2. It preserves your mood and energy.

Winter brings shorter days and less sunlight, which can contribute to lower serotonin levels, disrupted circadian rhythms, reduced motivation, and sluggishness. Exercise stimulates endorphins, dopamine, and other brain chemicals that enhance mood, reduce stress, sharpen thinking, and combat the “winter blues.” Even a 30-minute workout can make a noticeable difference.

3. It prevents winter from becoming spring’s setback.

Strength is remarkably easy to lose and much slower to rebuild. Staying active through winter helps preserve muscle mass, bone density, joint mobility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. Rather than spending spring trying to regain what was lost, you’ll be ready to build from a much stronger foundation.

There was a time Samantha doubted what she was capable of.

Today she pushed 165 kg.

Strength changes far more than your body. 🔥
