A hybrid class - Vinyasa to Yin Yoga - balancing intentional, dynamic movement, unwinding slowly into complete stillness & deep rest.

Think spicy & dynamic, creative, functional & fluid movement, creating heat while harmonizing the mind, body & breath.

Settling into deep stillness, a passive & nourishing Yin practice.

All our classes include clear instructions, support & loads of options so you can find your practice within.

Mats, bolsters, blocks, straps & blankets are available for use, free of charge, or you are welcome to bring your own.

You can find her at That Little Yoga Place 5.30pm Thursdays and 6am and 7.30am Fridays.

Alice practices a blended style of yoga, incorporating vinyasa and satyananda teachings to integrate the elements and focus on the sensations within your body.

Her love of yoga is in its ability to bring us into this present moment and to continuously evolve with the exploration of this human experience.

Dedicated to helping others navigate what it is to feel healthy, Alice has worked around the world opening retreat centres and running naturopathic yoga workshops.

Yoga Nidra is a practice which brings the deeper layers of the psyche into conscious experience. In every area of the brain, there are millions and millions of impressions stored in the form of archetypes. These archetypes are all the experiences of life. Like a camera. Registered consciously or unconsciously it is stored by the subconscious mind.

In the yogic system, Yoga Nidra is considered as a form of raja yoga. That classic exposition of raja yoga is found in the yoga sutras, a masterful collection of 196 sutras or aphorisms, written by Sage Patanjali several centuries before the birth of Christ. Patanjali divided the path of raja yoga into eight stages, starting with the basic rules of attitude and behavior that are conducive to mental peace and ending with samadhi, or self-realization, in which the contents and activity of the mind are completely transcended.

When we practice Yoga Nidra we are trying to transcend the behavior of the external mind. Various centers in the brain are stimulated systematically, so the experiences we undergo are natural. When the mind becomes subtle during the practice, its experiences are almost on the same level as we have in dreams. Though more vivid and clear then those that occur in the dreaming state.

During the practice your consciousness travels though one layer of consciousness to another, according to its possibility and capacity. Sometimes it goes very deep , then you have more fantastic and exploding experiences, such as levitating, while the conscious is traversing though the subconscious mind. When awareness penetrates into the subconscious realm, it is temporarily dethatched from the body idea. When this dissociation takes place between the mind and body, you have a lot of wonderful experiences.

Lulu is back in the studio next week.

You can find her at That Little Yoga Place Tuesdays at 2pm and Thursdays at 4pm.

A grateful lifelong yoga student, Lulu creates warm and welcoming spaces for everyone.

Her classes are best described as intentional, meditative, devotional, grounding, self inquisitive, with a balance of flow and stability. Always, with an emphasis of building connection between the mind, body, breath, and spirit.

Lulu loves using optional hands-on assists to install awareness and softness into the body, helping students deepen into poses and melt into Savasana at the end of practice. Lulu teaches Yin, gentle and vinyasa flow.

WHAT’S ON // Sunrise yoga with a pretty spectacular view?

Absolutely!

Sunrise Yoga by That Little Yoga Place at Moruya Heads Headland is returning in September every Saturday, inviting locals to roll out their mats, breathe in some fresh air and start the weekend with a gentle morning practice by the water.

These sessions are suitable for all experience levels, including beginners, so you can simply show up, move your body and enjoy the peaceful surrounds.

And the view is a very good reason to set that alarm. Sunrise over the headland, ocean views, the chance to spot wildlife and the surf below… not a bad way to start the day! After a chilly winter, a little morning sunshine on your skin is going to feel divine.

If early mornings aren’t quite your thing, their Sunday sessions at Moruya Riverside Park are another lovely option. These 9am sessions are all about gentle, mindful movement, followed by the very important post-yoga ritual of a chat and coffee.

Our Yin & Mindfulness practice will be held at the studio as usual at 4pm.

(Also today - at 4PM a prayer circle will be held @ Pedro Point for our brother Michael. For anyone in the community who feels like they need the space to come together and support each other )

Having a lot of fun with this movement lately.

The block is optional.

For added fun you can add movement into the arms and legs at the same time moving the opposite way, a great practice for cognitive brain function. So good.
