A special moment for the Bears this Indigenous Round, with young Koby from our U9s proudly delivering an Acknowledgement of Country. 🐻
With 28 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players across the Kotara Bears, Indigenous Round holds a special place within our club.
We’re proud to acknowledge and support our Indigenous players and families, and to celebrate the culture, history and contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - both within our club and throughout the wider rugby league community.
Seeing one of our youngest Bears stand proudly in front of our community and deliver the Acknowledgement of Country made the occasion even more special.
Great job, Koby - you did yourself, your family and the Bears proud! 👏🖤💛❤️

Today our club was proud to support the Southlakes Roosters with the Round.
Across the club, every Kotara Bears team retired their number 3 jersey in honour of Ali, a beautiful life taken far too soon. Players and supporters wore pink ribbons and wristbands, and a minute's silence was observed before our U14WT game as a mark of respect and remembrance.
Today was about more than football. It was about standing together as one rugby league community, showing our support for Ali's family, friends, teammates and the entire Southlakes Roosters club.
Our thoughts remain with everyone who knew and loved Ali. 💗
