Has your awning fabric shrunk? Awning Locks have many functions, one of which is taking care of awning shrinkage at the barrel end to allow the anti flap bars to be close enough to the awning fabric to be able to hold it securely. But what if the fabric has shrunk at the van end? In the past the only way to fix that was to drill new holes in the side of the van and move the bracket further towards the fabric. My new re-alignment plates solve that problem. Simply unscrew your ant flap bar top bracket from the van and replace it with the re-alignment plate using the same holes and same screws (putting some sealant on the screws of course). Your old bracket can now screw onto the re-alignment plate in any one of 3 positions to suit the shrunken fabric. The holes in the plate are threaded and the screws are supplied. Made in 304 stainless steel. $15 each.

Here is an easy inexpensive way to secure those those middle roof rafters from working their way loose when the barrel keeps moving on the ratchet back and forth in the wind. Simply drill a hole through the inner sliding part of the rafter against the outer parts edge and insert a nail or split pin. The lock k**b on these rafters does not grip well enough in windy conditions allowing the rafter to slide shorter and eventually fall out of the hole in the barrel. For the ultimate solution the use of my Awning Locks in conjunction with antiflap bars on the ends will stop the barrel moving on the ratchet assembly and antiflap bars from twisting and hold the fabric taut.

I am honoured to have be approached by the organisers of the NSW Association of Caravan Clubs to provide one of my Deluxe Awning Locks as one of the prizes for their upcoming rally.
The 19th National Caravan Clubs Rally will be held at Mudgee NSW from 29th September till 7th October 2025. My compliments to the organisers for the huge effort they have put in to bring it all together. I am told there are around 350 vans going so it should be a hell of a good time for all. Have a great time all.

Product in focus this week is the top tent pole adaptor used in conjunction with our Deluxe Awning Lock. When bolted to the side of the anchor on the Deluxe Awning Lock it allows any normal tent pole to be used to support the barrel of electric roll out awnings so they can be tied down without risk of damaging the supporting arms. $12 pair.
