ππ Holiday Haven Flow X Rd 2 Wrap-Up ππ
We had an absolutely epic afternoon on the trails at Superbowl yesterday for the second round of our Holiday Haven Flow X series! It was potentially the best riding weather we have had this winter, with warm sunshine and great trail conditions making for the perfect few hours of racing π
Over 60 riders were on track, and it was fantastic to see so many people of all ages having fun on their bikes. Flow X is all about having fun and racing at your pace - it almost feels like a big group ride! You get to go as fast as you like on the fun stuff, then catch up with everyone in between. How good! πββοΈ
We appreciate everyone who came out to the event, especially our SCUM team and volunteers, without whom we would be unable to host these races!
Our next event will be an XC race on the 15th of August, with the location TBD, so put it in your calendar and keep an eye out for more details on the next few weeks.
In the meantime, we hope you can take advantage of this great weather and spend plenty of time out riding your bike! π€©

βοΈSuperbowl Trails closed for Flow XβοΈ
Our Holiday Haven Flow X event is happening today out at Superbowl, and the majority of trails will be impacted between 12pm and 3:30pm. We ask that if you are out at the trails during this time and not racing, please avoid riding on the race stages, which will be marked.
We appreciated your understanding!

πͺπͺ Track work - every hand helps! πͺπͺ
Coondoo track work on Saturday saw a small but keen group of people getting stuck into Morocco Mole, cleaning up the vegetation and drainage. Track work is for everybody, and we had trail fairies from early teens to more seasoned 60 year olds.
If you ride and enjoy the trails, please come along to our next trail day and give something back to help keep them in tip top shape!
We will be taking advantage of this fresh trail work at next monthβs XC round, but in the meantime, we have the 2nd round of our Holiday Haven Flow X series this Saturday at Superbowl! Make sure to get your entry in and get ready for an awesome afternoon of racing - all the details and entry link can be found on the SCUM website (https://www.scum.asn.au/flow_x_series.html) π

Winter is the prime time for racing, with cool temps, sunshine (fingers crossed!), and perfect trail conditions meaning that this is one you donβt want to miss! π
The Holiday Haven Flow X Series is SCUMβs staged racing with a chilled, fun-first vibe β race yourself, your mates, your family, or your category. Each event usually includes 4 stages, with only the downhills timed and the liaisons left untimed, so you can cruise between runs and save your legs for the fun bits.
The atmosphere is supportive, social, and full of good banter. Whether youβre here for bragging rights or just the joy of riding, Flow X is all about fun on the trails with your MTB community.
Remember, be confident in your registration. If you register and then canβt make it, you can cancel it anytime before the race starts (so no excuse not to enter early!) π
Make sure to check out the SCUM website for all info and registration, and we canβt wait to see you there π€©

Track work is back this month and we are heading out to Coondoo to give the trails some love! The trails have been in great condition and were a hit for the Coondoo Classic, but with the on and off rain, this is the perfect chance to give them a freshen up. Our next XC round will be out at Coondoo on the 15th of August (more details in a few weeks), and we want to get an awesome loop ready!
Track work is a huge part of keeping SCUM trails riding well year-round, and we really appreciate any support you can provide. If you have some spare time on Saturday afternoon, please come out and lend a hand!
We are incredibly grateful for the support from our trail sponsors, South Coast MTB Suspension Centre, The Bike Shack, and Bike Haven Bomaderry. Make sure to support the businesses that support our club!

ππ Road Upgrades! ππ
If you have been out to our Superbowl or Butterfly trail networks in the past couple of weeks, you will have noticed some significant upgrades to sections of Butterfly Rd. This is a fantastic development for our trails, making access much easier for all!
This has been a long term project in collaboration with the relevant authorities, and we are grateful for the work of Forestry Corp of NSW, in particular our regional partnerships manager, Evan Michaels-Hardy. Working in partnership with the land managers is one of SCUMβs key strategic objectives, and brings sustainable, quality and positive outcomes such as this!
Additionally, we have recently had a little refresh at our Butterfly trailhead, with new sponsor signs alongside our existing trail map. Make sure to check them out if youβre out at the trails!
Thanks for your support and we hope you enjoy these developments π§‘

ππ΅ A Big Thank You to Our Club Sponsors π΅π
As we wrap up our latest sponsor shout-outs, we'd like to recognise and thank our fantastic Club Sponsors. Their support helps SCUM maintain trails, run events, develop riders and continue growing mountain biking on the South Coast.
RAKLOX
Designed right here in the Shoalhaven by SCUM member Jen, Raklox continues to innovate with clever bike security solutions built by riders, for riders.
They've recently launched two exciting new products:
β
Travel Loop β designed specifically for horizontal bike racks, bringing the same secure, damage-free Raklox system to even more riders.
β
Dually β a new option that allows riders to secure multiple bikes at once, making it perfect for families and riding buddies.
Like the original Raklox Secure Anchor, both products are Australian-made and engineered to the same high standard riders have come to expect.

CHOCOLATE FOOT
A huge welcome and thank you to one of SCUM's newest Club Sponsors. Chocolate Foot recently hosted their inaugural Nowra Shredcation across our Coondoo and Superbowl trail networks, receiving outstanding feedback from riders and coaches alike. Their skills clinics and coaching weekends help riders build confidence, develop new skills and have more fun on the bike. We're excited to have them on board and look forward to seeing more Shredcation weekends in the future.

EARNEST ARTHUR
A favourite stop for many local riders, Earnest Arthur continues to support SCUM and the local riding community. Conveniently located in South Nowra, it's the perfect place to grab a coffee, pie or bite to eat before or after a ride. Their support helps keep our club rolling.
TRINITY GRAMMAR SCHOOL FIELD STUDIES CENTRE
Located in Woollamia near Huskisson, Trinity's Field Studies Centre helps connect young people with the outdoors through hands-on learning, adventure and personal development.
From everyone at SCUM, thank you for backing our club, our volunteers and our trails. Please support the businesses and organisations that support mountain biking on the South Coast.

ππ€© Coondoo Classic - This Friday! π€©π
We are stoked to have the Coondoo Classic back on our trails for another year, with racing happening this Friday the 26th of June. This is a fantastic schools event that is run by Vincentia High School, and this year is the 19th edition!
The format for the event is a 4hr enduro relay race between 10am and 2pm, with teams taking on a lap of our Coondoo network. The event attracts over 300 riders from 25 schools across the South East region, and is quite the spectacle!
If you are keen to help out, there are volunteer positions including marshals, bbq attendants, and track riders, that need to be filled - your help is greatly appreciated and is a key part of keeping this event going. For more information about the event and volunteering, please contact Peter Raftery on 0466985258.
We love having so many young riders on our trails, and canβt wait to see you all out there! π
