Are You Doing This Wrong?
You probably do the High Knee Drill two or three times a week for the entire season.
But are you performing it wrong?
Here are some keys to getting it dialled in.
-Upright posture
-90degree angle at Hips, Knee, Ankle
-Full extension on the base leg
-Switching action (one up, one down)
Better High Knees leads to speed gains.

Winona loved play football for Hills Valkyries Gridiron Club but she was struggling to keep up with the speed of the game.
That’s when she reached out to me in my DM’s and booked a 1on1 Personal Training session.
From there we started working just once a week, to get her body moving fasting and hitting harder.
We focused on improving sprint mechanics, core stability and strength.
It wasn’t long before she was dominating on both sides of the ball, and became a key player for her team.
Are you struggling to keep up?
Sick and tired of not making an impact?
Send me a DM and let’s talk about how we can get you fitter, faster and stronger than ever.

Real Athletes, Real Results.
Ready to kick your training up a notch, but not sure where to start?
Send me a DM and tell me what you’re struggling with.
“I was struggling not knowing what I should or shouldn’t do with the injuries I had.”
Christy wasn’t seeing results in her training.
“I was just doing whatever came to mind, which was usually stuff I was already good at.”
Without a clear training plan, athletes rarely see improvement. With two young boys to look after, Christy didn’t want to be wasting her limited time at the gym.
“I also struggled with not knowing what I should and shouldn’t do with the injuries I had”
I got Christy started with the Gridiron Elite Online Program and she noticed the improvements instantly.
“Not only was it geared towards improving all areas I needed as an athlete, it also included exercises I would have previously avoided.”
The program was designed to work around her existing injuries, while still working on fixing imbalances to prevent future injury.
“In the past I always felt I couldn’t catch my breath or recover before the next round.”
My online training is set up to challenge my athletes, without completely overwhelming them.
“I am doing the burpees not only faster, but with much better form. I’ve also surpassed all my previous life PB’s so I’ve gotten stronger too!”
What separates the Gridiron Elite Program from other training programs is that you won’t just focus on one single training adaptation. You will improve your Speed, Power, Strength, Balance and Fitness.
The only way we can achieve success across so many adaptations is through carefully structured programming. Something that isn’t possible by just rocking up to the gym without a plan.

Develop Break-Away Speed
This is how I use a sled push to teach my athletes how to get in better positions when they accelerate.
It’s all about being more efficient with your movements, making sure no movement is wasted (we call this energy leak)
Give this drill a go next time you’re at the gym.
Focus on pulling your big toe up, straight torso and getting to 90 degree on that front side knee.

Need to get fitter? Avoid this mistake.
The biggest mistake I see athletes make when they train fitness, is a lack of direction.
So let me help you out.
What sort of fitness are you needing?
+60mins slow and steady?
2min efforts, with short recovery?
10sec burst that you repeat?
Because how we train determines what we get good at.
I’m not here to tell you which on is best, that’s for you to decide.
For my athletes we work on all of these throughout the full training year. We focus more on slow and steady during the off-season, then ramp up the intensity as we hit pre-season.
What do you need to work on at the moment?

Be the Hammer or the Nail.
When it comes to contact sports, you don’t want to be below average when it comes to strength, because you’ll come off second best in the contest week after week.
Strength and core stability play a big roll in every collision and if you want to head into finals injury free you must put the work during the week at the gym.
