Happy Birthday to our Master Instructor John! 🥋🎂🎉

Today is a deeply meaningful day for our entire organisation. As we pause to honour the memory and enduring legacy of our founder, World Master Chong Chul Rhee, we also celebrate the birthday of the man carrying that torch forward across Western Australia - our Master Instructor, Chong Kwan Jang Nim John Barouky (6th Dan)!

Sharing this date with Master Rhee makes today all the more profound. Having trained under World Master Chong Chul Rhee since 1991 and served as his trusted personal advisor, Master Instructor John’s bond with his teacher sits at the core of his leadership. He leads our Perth Region with fierce loyalty, relentless passion, and the uncompromising traditional standards passed directly down to him.

Master Instructor John: thank you for safeguarding our authentic lineage, mentoring our instructors, and inspiring every single student who steps into our Dojang.

Please join us in the comments in wishing Master Instructor John a very happy birthday filled with health, strength, and continued success!

IN REMEMBRANCE: WORLD MASTER CHONG CHUL RHEE 🥋🕊️

Today, October 27th, the Rhee Tae Kwon Do family pauses to honor and remember our founder, World Master Chong Chul Rhee.

Revered as the Father of Australian Taekwondo, Master Rhee arrived in Australia in the late 1960s with an unwavering vision: to introduce a pure, traditional, non-competitive martial art rooted in discipline, integrity, indomitable spirit, and real-world self-defence.

Through decades of tireless dedication, he built a legacy that transformed countless lives across Australia and New Zealand, serving not just as a Grandmaster, but as a mentor, father figure, and pillar of strength to generations of practitioners.

Though Master Rhee is no longer with us in person, his spirit, knowledge, and standards live on through every punch, kick, kihap, and bow performed on our dojang mats every single day.

We forever honor his memory, uphold his teachings, and safeguard his unbroken lineage.
Rest in peace, World Master Chong Chul Rhee. Your legacy is eternal. 🥋🇦🇺🇰🇷

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL OUR RTKD DADS! 🥋💙
Today, we honor and celebrate the strong, dedicated fathers and father figures who lead, protect, and inspire their families every single day.

In Rhee Tae Kwon Do, Father’s Day holds a deeply profound meaning. We proudly remember our founder, World Master Chong Chul Rhee, reverently known as the Father of Australian Taekwondo. Beyond introducing traditional martial arts to Australia in 1970, Master Rhee served as a father figure, mentor, and guide to generations of Rhee Tae Kwon Do students across the nation. His leadership, wisdom, and uncompromising standards laid the foundation for the family we are today.

To all the fathers in our dojangs: thank you for leading by example, supporting your children's martial arts journeys, and instilling the values of respect, discipline, and perseverance at home.

We wish all RTKD fathers a wonderful day filled with strength, health, happiness, and quality time with family! 🥋🔥
