Finding balance can be understood as a metaphor for navigating life’s competing demands, responsibilities and emotions. Just as a tightrope walker must constantly adjust their position to remain upright, people must make ongoing adjustments to maintain stability and changing circumstances.
Balance does not mean standing perfectly still or giving equal attention to everything at all times; rather, it involves recognising when one aspect of life has become too dominant and making conscious efforts to restore harmony.
Whether between work or personal life, ambition and contentment, or giving to others and caring for oneself, finding balance is a dynamic process that requires awareness, flexibility, and resilience.
The metaphor reminds us that balance is not a fixed destination but a continual practice of adapting and responding to life’s moments.

Thinkfitters, you often see me working out, hitting milestones, smiling in front of the camera, and showing up strong. But today, I want to be completely real - with you and with myself.
This photo was taken while I was getting ready for a party, not long after my shoulder surgery. Exercise had become almost non-existent, I was missing my babies, and I was missing ThinkFit more than I can explain.
When I looked at myself in the mirror that night, it honestly stopped me in my tracks. It knocked me for a six.
I want you to know that I, too, struggle with bloating, body changes and what many women call the ‘menopause middle spread.’ I want you to know that I cried. I didn’t want to go to the party. I didn’t feel confident, strong or like the version of myself I was used to seeing.
While I try to inspire others and be a positive influence, behind the scenes I still have moments of overwhelm, self-doubt and meltdowns too. That’s the ebb and flow of life. That’s reality.
This photo reminds me that I’m not a superhero. I’m not 35 anymore and my body needs a different kind of care, nourishment, support and understanding than it did in the past.
But I also know this; I am not willing to sit back and let these changes define me.
I am still fighting for my strength, my health, my confidence, my energy and the best version of myself - not from a place of punishment, but from a place of self-respect and self-care.
And if I can help other women feel less alone along the way, then every hard moment has purpose.
Knowledge is power. But taking action with that knowledge? That’s where real transformation begins.

‘I can create what I want to create.’
Your behaviours must match your thoughts and your thoughts have to match your behaviours. Your behaviours will create the result.
If I want to run - am I following a program and committing to every run or am I ‘busy’ at work, ‘busy’ at home, ‘busy’ doing something and skipping sessions? Why am I not getting better!!!
If I want to lose weight - is having a banana cake every morning tea or a packet of crisps with my lunch time sandwich serving me well and aligning with my goal? Why am I not losing weight!
It’s important to understand Negative emotions are just as important as positive ones. For some reason as soon as we feel a negative emotion we run, we stop.
It’s a cycle : We Try - We Fail
We Start - We Quit
We need to use the negative emotions to fuel our actions to help us to change and make us better. We need to Learn? Grow and become more? If we don’t have negative emotions, we’d never know the positive ones right.
So if you start something and fall off track somewhere along the way, I want you to jump back on and keep the commitment with yourself and finish what you started. This is what successful people do. Be aware - you aren’t failing you are learning.
Following a plan is easy - CHANGING HABITS IS HARD!
We have to practice and practice and then stay consistent. Living with intention is a process. Our minds run on subconscious - it takes work to shift to the conscious state! As humans do we like work? No - we find the easy way, it’s instinctively within us.
Change is huge, it’s a whole chemical chain reaction going on inside your head.
CHANGING HABITS IS HARD but
YOU CAN CREATE WHAT YOU WANT TO CREATE with mindset work.
Any Change requires Mindset work - whether it’s nutrition, exercise, work, relationships and if this is not addressed or included it’s the missing piece of the puzzle and it’s a sure set up for why you are not achieving what you want to create….
YOU CAN CREATE WHAT YOU WANT TO CREATE.

Real change isn’t just about habits - it’s about identity. It’s about stepping into a new version of yourself.
Our brains are wired for survival, designed to keep us safe and within familiar patterns.
So the first transformation has to happen with your mindset.
You have to redefine how you see your future self.
Once you can clearly envision her - how she feels, how she moves, how she shows up during this phase of life - you can begin working backwards. Your thoughts will begin to align with her. And from there, your actions will follow : how you nourish your body, how you move, how you rest, and how you recover.
Because ultimately, our thoughts create our actions, and our actions create our results.
Your journey towards any goal isn’t linear. It’s layered, complex, and at times messy. But with knowledge it’s deeply empowering.

One minute you’re wondering if your partner always chewed that loudly (purely hypothetical of course 👉🏻👨🏼🦰) and then the next ready to lovingly embrace them… 🤗👨🏼🦰
Welcome to the wild, unpredictable, occasionally hilarious (if you don’t laugh you’ll cry) ride that is perimenopause.
In all seriousness though, having a supportive “partner in crime” during this season can make a world of difference. A little understanding, patience, and compassion goes a long way.
So to the partners out there: gain some knowledge about the symptoms and changes going on in a womans body during this time and remember, no one is harder on us than we already are.
Your support matters more than you know ❤️

Plan your wake up time around 90 minute sleep cycles…
Have you ever had one of those magical mornings where you pop up out of bed after just 6 hours of sleep, feeling like a well rested outback koala bear… only to be betrayed the next day when 8 full hours leaves you shuffling around like a confused zombie? There is a reason for this emotional rollercoaster, and no, it’s not because your mattress is holding a grudge.
Sleep isn’t one long, peaceful blackout. It’s more like your brain hosting a nightly variety show - cycling through different stages every 90 minutes. You move from light sleep to deep sleep to REM, each stage doing its own important job, from repairing your body to sorting your memories to helping you not cry at commercials.
When you wake up at the end of one of these cycles - say after 3, 4.5, 6 or 7.5 hours, your brain is already edging towards consciousness, so getting up feels smooth and almost - intentional. But if your alarm barges in halfway through a cycle, your brain reacts like someone flipped on the lights mid-nap. That’s when sleep inertia hits : the grogginess, the fog, the ‘why is my soul still asleep?’ feeling.
Understanding these cycles doesn’t just explain why some mornings feel glorious and others feel like punishment. It also reminds us that sleep is a beautiful complicated process, not just an off-switch, but a whole behind-the-scenes production happening every night while we drool on our pillows.
So check your sleep pattern ladies and adjust your alarms. You don’t need any additional reasons for those hormones to be playing out of tune.

The Great Dinner Plate Traffic Jam!
The Power of Food Order 💪🏻
One night, the carbohydrate decided to speed onto the road first - pasta flooring it, bread cutting everyone off, desert sneaking in like a reckless motorbike. Within minutes, your bloodstream looked like Friday afternoon peak hour traffic; horns blaring, sugar levels soaring, insulin waving its arms like an exhausted traffic cop yelling, ‘Slow down, people!’
The next night, something magical happened. The vegetables arrived first - calm, organised, quietly setting up road cones and speed limits. Then protein and fats rolled in like sensible SUV’s, slowing everything down and keeping traffic flowing smoothly. Finally, the carbs showed up last, but by then the road was controlled, orderly, almost peaceful. No chaos. No sugar pile-ups. Just a relaxed metabolic commute.
And here’s the punchline: it wasn’t what changed on the plate - it was who entered the highway first. Veggies first. Protein and Fats second. Carbs last.
Turns out, your body doesn’t just care what you eat to stabilise hormones - it cares about the dinner seating arrangements too.
Try it at your next meal time 🤗
Veggies (Fibre) First
Protein & Fats Second
Starches and Sugars last if you do have them.

You showed up for the kids.
For your partner.
For work.
But what about you?
Did you move your body?
Breathe deeply?
Fuel yourself well?
You deserve the same effort you give everyone else.
Think about that. 🔥
