πββοΈπββοΈ Atlantis Outside School Care Butler - TAG Sports - Athletics Week 1! π
This week, we were excited to kick off our first week of Athletics! The children had a fantastic time developing their throwing, running, jumping, and coordination skills through a variety of engaging activities and team games.
From practicing throwing and rolling skills in bowling games to challenging themselves with jumping activities, everyone embraced the opportunity to learn, move, and have fun. Along the way, the children also strengthened their teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship skills, with plenty of encouragement and support shown between peers.
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, confidence, and positive participation from everyone involved!π

Weekly Wrap-Up β Fun Fitness with Tag Sports
This week, the children in our Toddler and Kindy rooms participated in an exciting Fun Fitness session with Tag Sports, engaging in a variety of energetic activities designed to promote physical wellbeing and enjoyment of movement.
The children took part in fitness challenges, obstacle courses, movement games, and team activities that encouraged them to run, jump, balance, crawl, and coordinate their movements in different ways. These experiences helped to strengthen their gross motor skills, balance, agility, coordination, and body awareness.
Throughout the session, the children learnt the importance of staying active and looking after their bodies. They practised listening to instructions, following directions, and working cooperatively with their peers. The activities also encouraged persistence, resilience, and confidence as the children challenged themselves to try new movements and complete different fitness tasks.
The physical literacy elements that were focused on were Agility, Coordination, Object Manipulation, Self-Regulation, Confidence, Engagement & Enjoyment.
It was wonderful to see the children actively participating, supporting one another, and celebrating their achievements. Fun Fitness provided a positive and engaging environment where the children could develop healthy habits, build confidence, and enjoy being physically active. We look forward to more fun and energetic sessions with Tag Sports in the future. πͺπββοΈ

This week at Atlantis Outside School Care Alkimos, the children had an energetic and exciting time during fun fitness sessions with Coach Niel. They practised holding strong planks and absolutely loved a lively diceβrolling game, where each number revealed a different fitness challenge for them to complete.
These activities supported a range of important benefits, including building core strength, improving coordination, boosting confidence, and encouraging teamwork as the children cheered each other on.
It was wonderful to see everyone having fun while staying active and developing healthy habits.

What a fantastic start to our Skipping Program! This week, the children learned the basics of skipping while building coordination, balance, rhythm, and confidence.
A huge congratulations to Ida, Hudson, and Everly on achieving their very first skips! The excitement and pride on their faces were amazing to see.
A special shout-out to our Captains of the Week: Hannah, Declan, Zoe, and Annabelle for their positive leadership and encouragement.
We canβt wait to introduce new skipping skills and fun challenges next week! Sessions return to Tuesday and Wednesday at 4pm.

Weekly Wrap-Up β Softball with Tag Sports

This week, the children had a fantastic time participating in a softball session with Tag Sports. The activities provided opportunities for the children to develop their fundamental movement skills while learning the basic techniques and rules of the game.
The children practised key softball skills such as throwing, catching, batting, and running between bases. They focused on hand-eye coordination, body control, and timing as they worked on hitting the ball and catching passes from their peers. The children enthusiastically challenged themselves and demonstrated growing confidence as they developed these new skills.
Through the session, the children learnt the importance of teamwork, communication, and taking turns. They worked collaboratively with their peers, encouraged one another, and showed great sportsmanship throughout the activities. The children also explored concepts such as aim, accuracy, and strategy while participating in games and skill-based challenges.
The physical literacy elements that were focused on this week were Stability & Balance, Hand-eye coordination, Confidence, Moving with equipment and Content knowledge.
It was wonderful to see the children's enthusiasm, perseverance, and willingness to try new experiences. Softball provided a fun and engaging way for the children to build their physical skills, confidence, and social connections. We look forward to continuing to develop these skills in future Tag Sports sessions. π₯

Weekly Wrap-Up β Basketball with Tag Sports
This week, the children enjoyed an engaging basketball session with Tag Sports, where they had the opportunity to develop a range of physical, social, and cognitive skills through fun and interactive games.
The children practiced fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, catching, and shooting. They learnt how to control the ball while moving, aim towards a target, and work with teammates to complete challenges. Through these activities, the children strengthened their hand-eye coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and overall gross motor skills.
Throughout the session, the children learnt the importance of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. They worked together to support one another, took turns, followed instructions, and celebrated each other's efforts and achievements. The children also explored concepts such as control, accuracy, and perseverance as they continued practicing new skills.
The physical literacy elements that were focused on this week were Object manipulation, Agility, Coordination, Movement with equipment and Confidence.
It was wonderful to see the children's confidence grow as they challenged themselves, demonstrated resilience, and proudly showcased their developing basketball abilities. We look forward to seeing these skills continue to progress in future Tag Sports sessions. π

Weekly Wrap-Up β Athletics with Tag Sports
This week, the children participated in an exciting athletics session with Tag Sports. Throughout the activities, they had opportunities to develop their fundamental movement skills while having fun and working together.
The children took part in a variety of athletic challenges, including running, jumping, balancing, and throwing activities. They practised moving their bodies in different ways, building their coordination, balance, agility, and confidence. The children showed enthusiasm as they challenged themselves to try new skills and improve their performance.
Through these experiences, the children learnt the importance of listening carefully to instructions, following rules, taking turns, and encouraging their peers. They also explored concepts such as speed, distance, control, and body awareness. Many children demonstrated persistence and resilience as they continued practising skills that were new or challenging for them.x
The physical literacy elements that were focused on this week were Agility, Speed, Reaction time, Self-regulation, Confidence and Cardiovascular endurance.
Athletics sessions also supported the children's social and emotional development, as they worked cooperatively, celebrated each other's achievements, and developed confidence in their own abilities.
We look forward to continuing to build on these skills in future Tag Sports sessions and watching the children's confidence and abilities grow.

What a end to the Tennis rotation here at Kinross! Our children have made leaps and bounds since Coach Jackson started our Tennis sessions.
This week our focus was forehand and backhand passing, building on our coordination skills.
To end the week we finished off playing games of Tennis and cheered our friends whilst on the sideline!
We are very much looking forward to our next sport: SOCCER β½

Tag Sports at Tall Tree Early Learning Subiaco! π

Today, the children had a fantastic time participating in our Tag Sports martial arts session with Coach Ella! The children explored a variety of movements including balancing, kicking, blocking, coordination activities, and controlled partner games in a safe and supportive environment.
Through these experiences, the children developed important physical literacy skills such as agility, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, confidence, self-regulation, and spatial awareness. It was wonderful to see the children encouraging one another, following instructions, and building confidence while actively engaging in movement and teamwork.
As an extension of our National Simultaneous Storytime experience on the 27th of May, the children also participated in soccer play inspired by the Luna Roo story. This learning experience encouraged active play, teamwork, communication, and creativity while helping children connect storytelling with movement-based learning.
What a wonderful day of active learning, imagination, and fun! β½
We are looking forward to beginning a new sports rotation next week!
