The weekend saw our junior Sharks head to the Launceston Tournament. Three teams who all experienced the highs and lows of winning and losing, scoring goals and being scores against. With our development progam we don't focus on the results. What we do focus on is the growth of our players and the moments they can learn from. All three age groups learn't lessons they will carry with them on thier football journey. Our under 9's were very successful going undefeated until their semi final. Emotions were high but they should be very proud of their outstanding effort all weekend. The under 11's played well as a team in all their matches as well as some fantastic individual performances. The under 12's didn't get off to a great start but boy did they learn a thing or two about keeping their heads up and working hard. They went out with a bang managing an outstanding last game with all 10 players putting on an incredible performance. We are very proud of all the players. We are incredibly greatful to Rob, Jenna, Aaron and Tegan for coaching and managing the 9's and 11's. Tournaments like this can't happen without hard working volunteers. Thank you to all the parents for putting in the time, money and effort for your children to get this experience. Now time for a little, much needed break.
Cheers,
Coach Jess 😁

Thank you to the players and parents who braved the weather for this afternoon's practice. Just a bit of house keeping before we head into the Launceston Tournament this weekend:

Tournament fees will be $25 per player again. This can be paid cash on the weekend or bank transfer. Bank details will be posted in the group chat.

We are lucky enough to have a parent coach each of the teams. They are there for anything football related not to babysit your children. Please show them the respect they deserve while coaching but be available for emotional support for your player when needed. We can not supervise children going to the toilet that is the duty of parents not coaches. Please turn up to games 30mins prior to starting time where possible.

We use these tournaments as player development our focus is not solely on winning games. Our aim is to create smart footballers that can make thier own decisions in game situations. Mistakes will be made they are all part of the process. Please do not yell instructions to players from the side lines. Comments like "pass the ball" and "shoot" are not necessary and actually stop the players learning from their own choices. Instead please be encouraging and cheer them on in a positive way. Games can get a little heated sometimes and tackles a little rough and sometimes mistakes from referees. But yelling at the referees is never ok. We are lucky to have so many young referees turn up for these tournaments so lets show them some appreciation.

No player is to take their jersey home after the tournament please return them to your coaches or myself.
Looking forward to a wonderful weekend of hopefully better weather and lots of fun playing the game we all love.

Cheers,
Coach Jess

We hope everyone enjoyed the J League season ⚽️⚽️🦈🦈😀😀.

Due to ground closure we will not be holding our usual end of season celebrations. Instead, we will be incorporating these with our annual Christmas function 🎅🏻, (details to follow nearer the date).

Playing kits can be dropped in to A.H. Pease Shoe Store in Burnie where a team photo can also be collected 📸.

Stay tuned for some exciting news when grounds are re-opened in early November ⚽️ 🏆.
