70 YEARS OF SERVICE — TED VAN OVERMEEREN 💛
Some moments in a club’s history are about much more than an award. They’re about friendship, memories, family and the people who have helped shape a club across generations.
At our Dinner & Awards Night, we were incredibly proud to recognise Ted Van Overmeeren for an extraordinary 70 years of service to our club.
Seventy years is an incredible milestone. Seven decades of football, friendships, laughter, memories, good times and plenty of stories along the way. Ted has been part of so much of our club’s history and has given an incredible amount of his time and himself to the people and the club he has been connected to for so many years.
This year, for the very first time, we presented the AG (Lofty) Graue Memorial Trophy 🏆
Lofty and Ted shared a wonderful friendship through their love of the club, and with Lofty sadly passing away earlier this year, it made this first presentation even more meaningful.
Ted wasn’t able to join us on the night, but there was no way we were going to let such an incredible achievement go unrecognised.
The following day, Lofty’s son, Barry Graue, made the trip to visit Ted and personally present him with the inaugural award.
There was something really special about that moment — Barry presenting an award in his dad’s name to someone who had shared so many years of friendship, football and memories with Lofty.
It was a beautiful reminder of what makes a football club so special. It isn’t just the games or the trophies. It’s the friendships that last a lifetime, the people who become family, and the stories that are passed from one generation to the next.
Ted, 70 years is an extraordinary contribution. Thank you for the friendship, the memories, the laughs and everything you have given to our club over seven incredible decades.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate you and the very special place you hold in the history of our club. 🦅💛
70 years. Countless memories. Lifelong friendships. One very special club.
