Changing levels

In boxing we should vary our level of punches to the head and body to set up specific combinations and create openings on the opponent.
If you initiate with a head shot that would create an opening to the body as your opponent defends the first punch thrown. The same would happen if you feint or throw a punch to the body to make your opponents hands drop then complete with a head shot.
As you do change levels it’s also important to keep your head off the centre line to avoid a possible counter attack.

Keeping the combos very simple to focus on holding the centre of the ring by cutting our opponent off and forcing them into the corner. We do this because it gives the perception that we are more dominant and in control of the fight as well as allowing us to utilise the space around us.
