Yasmine Meakes is awarded Katrina Fanning Player of the Series.
She always carries the ball hard and never shies away from the tough stuff. There was a moment tonight where she missed a tackle, jumped straight back up and sprinted as hard as she could to finish the job. That's character.
A good reminder for younger players that you don't have to make the flashy plays to get noticed by a coach or be rewarded.
Well done.
Great timing in this hit by Kiria-Ratu to not bite early and take the dummy from Kelleher.
Sin bin or send off?
This video is for educational purposes only. Kalyn Ponga is an elite professional athlete, and tackling at that level is incredibly complex, especially under fatigue. This breakdown is strictly for awareness of different tackle techniques and positioning so younger players can stay safe on the field.

This might seem like something small to some people, but from a coaching perspective, seeing Joash Papali'i join the NSW Blues camp for a training block is a great example of how effort gets recognised.
Although he isn’t in the 19 man line up, earning a spot in the squad is still a massive compliment to the work he’s putting in on the field.
You don’t always need to dominate the highlights reel or be the most hyped player to get noticed. Consistent effort, work rate and ex*****on help prepare you for when the window opens up. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity, and stories like this show exactly how that works.
Effort > Talent.
