I absolutely love my job as a School Music Teacher, I see students in my classroom excel everyday because Music gives them the opportunity to express and gain knowledge and musical experiences without barriers. I have seen the impact it has made in their learning and mental health, it makes me proud to be a teacher.

With every day of every year that passes , I always reflect on life's ups and downs and how it affected me. In Nov 2021, I was diagnosed with Pituary Carcinoma of the Thyroid and a huge Goiter that was compressed..."no, I have a better word for it, 'Strangling' my vocal cords"! It was definitely a scary and very frightening time , not only for me but for all my family and friends who love and care about me .. especially my baby. I thank God , my Creator for giving me the strength and the will to fight and come out the other side as a warrior...but that's what all cancer victims are ,"courageous warriors, fierce fighters,no matter what the end result may be"!
Come on people, cancer can come in many forms so get checked regularly especially those at risk.. "Don't do tomorrow, What you can do today".......!It's been 2 and a half years since the removal of the cancer cells / goiter, I beat it and so did my voice! My amazing and very experienced ,skilled surgeon spent hours in theatre carefully removing everything just so my vocal cords would remain intact ...just so I would still be able to sing 🙏🌟...he succeeded🥰😘💙🙏🙏 Complete remission is still a while away for me but I am so happy and grateful....Cancer Markers showing -1 for 1 year now, so far so good, positive outcome.😊
It is cancer month May 2023, a time where we raise the $ for cancer research to find a cure. Tonight my thoughts and prayers are with my /all family and friends who at some point have been touched / effected by cancer , know someone who has just been diagnosed and struggling to deal with this heartbreaking news, those who are going through cancer treatments and for those who have sadly passed away from this dreadful disease called cancer, may they rest in peace in paradise.
It's not an easy thing to talk about or even go through but we just have to count our blessings on this Earth and be thankful for the time we have because it goes very fast...! Always love each other, be kind, compassionate, have empathy, be a good listener, be caring, friendly and most importantly......HAVE FAITH🤗❤️🙏
Let's always kick cancer to the kerb, and find a Cure.🤗🥰❤️🙏

I am devastated to hear the news of Renee Geyers passing. She was a good friend, an inspiration, a talented singer musician, with a voice that was incredibly soulful and amazing🎶🎙️Australia's finest. My condolences , thoughts and prayers are with her gorgeous family at the sad time. Renee, thank you for being you, your music will live on forever and your memory will always stay alive. Now you can sing in heaven with that heavenly voice of yours.❤️ You will forever be remembered. RIP Renee, gone too soon.😢🙏😔 1953-2023
