This sacred mission doesn’t happen if we don’t lead it!

…and we can’t do it alone, it needs others to join, engage, and evolve with us.

which means...

Calling-as-a-business needs support.

So ultimately it challenges us to open up to support, and feel the awkward vulnerability of needing support asking for support, and then receiving support.

Anything that uplifts other humans must have the necessary support - logistical, emotional, spiritual, technical, promotional, and financial.

Since it’s a business, we need good, logically sound answers to these important business questions:

- Where will the leads come from?
- How many do we need every week?
- What’s the sales process?
- How many people are buying?
- What are the time, energy, and financial costs to deliver what we promised?

Just like raising a child takes a village.

Calling-as-a-Business takes a village of the most powerful allies we can recruit.

Anything that demands our best, needs the right allies…

..and to ruthlessly eliminate EVERYTHING that’s not aligned.

ON SPIRITUAL & STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY

Do you feel like integrity is important to you?
How do you define it?

The heart of the challenge living inside the environment of a secular society is the false idea that spirit and matter are separate. Which they are not, BUT it’s a pervasive illusion. And because we’re all wired with our own unique combo of strengths and weaknesses, it can amplify that difference.

We all have our own psychological tendencies and preferences which can make us lean more to the abstract and intangible, or the concrete and tangible.

For example…

- Do you prefer to gather information through your SENSES or your INTUITION?
- Do you give more preference to FEELINGS or FACTS?
- Do you give more weight to being EXTERNALLY validated in your achievement by numbers on some metric, or an INTERNAL sense of knowing that you did well?
- Are you more likely to get into fast ACTION or take time with REFLECTION first?

None of these preferences are better or worse.

The most successful and fulfilled people USE BOTH and can MOVE BETWEEN these thinking styles fluidly.

It’s a meta-cognitive flexibility to adapt their thinking and processing style to what will best fit the scenario and meet the outcomes required.

The challenge is that when we don’t have that fluidity of thinking style we can get stuck in our preferences and have blind-spots that create problems.

The natural tendency for most people is that when we are facing a problem, we are more likely to go towards trying to solve it from our areas of strength. It makes sense to use our strength to lean into our problems.

The rub is that most often the solution is hidden in the area that we are cognitively weak or have little experience and practice with; aka our blind spot.

This is why being in community and collaboration is so important to me.
This is exactly why we’re creating Infinite Alliance.

Other people can see the blind-spots that I can’t see, because they are looking at it from a different perspective.

I’ve been turning over this idea of INTEGRITY for a while.

What makes up integrity?
How do you know when you have it?
Where are my own blind-spots around this?
Where are my biases holding me back?

The insight that hit me a while back as I watched an edit sequence of bridges and buildings falling down from sub-standard workmanship in China is that integrity not just about morals or ethics.

Integrity is just as much STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING issue as a moral or ethical one.

Can you notice the Spirit / Matter split here?

Spirit - Moral & Ethical integrity. Values, culture, stakeholder awareness, alignment, emotional consideration, ecology checks.

Matter - Structural integrity. Systems, SOP’s, Funnels, Marketing channels, Team training, meeting cadence, quality control benchmarks.

The most common complaint from spiritual entrepreneurs is that businesses driven with a pure profit motive are more likely to cut corners and leave a trail of destruction in their wake. Whether that’s the mining company that destroys the land they are mining and also pollutes the rivers downstream, or the manufacturer selling sub-standard goods that fall apart after a few uses, or the unskilled coach pressure selling massive results and leaving people out of pocket, demoralised and humiliated for buying the hype.

When spiritual coaches focus on these kinds of “profit at any cost” businesses, and are repulsed by the lack of ethical integrity, it creates a blind spot that can amplify the polarity between spirit and matter.

Due to their natural lean more towards the immaterial realm, spirit, soul, prayer, intuitive knowing, calling, they have a higher focus on morals and ethics, and inner feeling as a way of knowing rather than external measures. The challenge is that within the context of Western Culture which is SECULAR (separation of church and state) spiritual people can often feel like they need to advocate that spirit is important to those who dismiss, discard or joke about it.

The pain that drives the desire to advocate for sacredness in a world that increasingly promotes more shallow consumerism, can also come with a sense of spiritual superiority (which is its own ego trap)

The trap is that in the superiority frame, the spiritual entrepreneur will often DEVALUE the learning and work in the areas of STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY that are necessary for their business to thrive and their impact and influence to expand in the way they would like to. The rationalisation often quoted “I’m not in it for the money like those greedy unethical people” which is a kinda silly belief when you’re in business, because of course businesses need money and profit to function.

Many entrepreneurs, business, sales and marketing coaches naturally lean more towards the material realm and are focussed on building the structures that create material security. Since having this revelation I now think of this as STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. aka real world, material things; businesses, houses, institutions etc. These kinds of entrepreneurs can sometimes devalue things like mindset work, nervous system regulation, spiritual practice as “woo-woo” or a waste of time.

The Divine Truth is that spirit and matter are ONE.

Without structural integrity spirit cannot flourish and grow.
Without spiritual integrity matter is unfulfilled and hollow.

WE NEED BOTH KINDS OF INTEGRITY TO THRIVE IN BUSINESS, FEEL FULFILLED, & SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT!

These are the nuanced paradoxes that we work through and reconcile inside SuperCoach

This is the deep work that is required to solve those chronic problems that you can’t figure out on your own. We’ve cracked the code on helping entrepreneurs find the places where they have judgements or their integrity is a bit wobbly, and gently help address it, without shame or blame, just deep understanding that we all have blind spots and we have all been conditioned in certain ways that can make us vulnerable to illusions like this. The shifts are amazing!
