The Sydney Marathon 2026 Ballot opens in under two weeks!

This is your moment to go big.

The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS opens its 2026 Ballot at 10:00am AEST, Wednesday 24 September 2025, and this is your chance to take on the world’s most scenic Abbott World Marathon Major.

We’re the newest name in the greatest marathon series, and we’re here to deliver something bold, something beautiful, something unmistakably Sydney - for the world.

In 2025, legends like Eliud Kipchoge and Sifan Hassan left their footprints alongside a record 33,000 finishers on a historic day of running in Australia… and in 2026 it’s your time to leave your mark in Sydney.

We’re so pleased that Running Stars ⭐️ was part of your special day. And we love that you are part of our Running Stars ⭐️ community.

🤞 Please remember, remember, remember to bring you cards each week and make sure you select your distance on the app, if running 5k or 10k. Please also add a photo to your profile on the app.

🤞Remember Star Points are earnt by Setting PBs, Volunteering, Turning Up each week and even join us for a coffee post run. Click on the STARS tab (top right corner) of the app to track your progress.

🫵 As you know without our volunteers we don’t have an event, so we’d like to see a few more people jump in and help out each week. Help “Set up before the event - signs and chalk” (about 20-30 minutes from about 6.45am), “Scan runners ON or OFF” before or after your run (10 minutes of your time), or if you have a photographic knack “take our photos for the week”.

We're also hoping that everyone will write a review for Facebook, Google and Trip Advisor, it will take you just 5-minutes and we would really appreciate it (Star points are up for grabs).

You choose your distance (2.5K, 5K or 10K) and your pace – “everyone is very welcome, so come and join us on Sunday at 7.15am for a 7.30am start! 😅

Running Stars 🌟 is 💯 % FREE and EVERYONE is WELCOME!
