Regional Mine Warfare teams unite to secure regional trade The risk posed by sea mines is a key focus at this year’s Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) Mine Countermeasures and Diving Exercise (MCM DIVEX), hosted by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on the New South Wales south coast.
To the members of the Australian Clearance Diving Team One page- in line with the Defence Social Media Strategy the page will be shut down in the coming weeks. I would encourage all of you to follow the Royal Australian Navy page and the Australian Defence Force in the Middle East page so that you can follow the exploits and achievements of AUSCDT ONE both around Australia and overseas. Another great product from Australia saving lives!
SILVERSHIELD, a new state-of-the-art force protection capability designed to protect against the threat of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) is now being manufactured in Australia, following an agreement between Defence and Queensland based company L-3 Micreo.
SILVERSHIELD is an advanced vehicle mounted system which will provide additional protection against mobile phone IED threats for Afghanistan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF).

Royal Navy blows up World War Two bomb which shut London City Airport The Royal Navy has blown up a German bomb from the World War Two just off the coast of Shoeburyness in Essex (pictured), three days after it was discovered by the runway at London City Airport.
