Flying Cloud | Hamilton Island Race Week 2026

What a week for the Flying Cloud crew at Hamilton Island Race Week - an amazing result of 3rd place in race 6!

Racing in the Hamilton Island Pink Division, Flying Cloud took on a full week of racing through the Whitsundays, with a mix of challenging conditions, shifting breezes and plenty of close competition across the fleet.

Skippered by Russell Bonner and Matt Ackroyd with a fantastic crew of Flying Fish onboard Flying Cloud raced in a competitive Pink Division fleet.

Working as a team, making the most of the conditions and keeping the boat moving when it counts.

A great week of racing for Flying Cloud and crew. Well sailed! ⛵

Second time sailing Hamilton Island Race Week with Flying Fish, Helen is back for another week of winter escape, trading cold weather for sunshine, sailing and a great crew. ☀️⛵️

She’s enjoying her second HIRW with Flying Fish, where the staff and crew create a supportive, patient and positive atmosphere throughout the week.

Tricky conditions for the start of race 3 at Hamilton Island Race week - the combination of a busy start line, a down wind start, 30 knot squalls from different directions, and a narrowing exit channel as well as some tricky tidal streams meant we kept the kite in the bag for a while!

Cool, grey, damp and windy was the order of the day for day 3 of Hamilton Island Race week - but fantastic sailing nonetheless and a great day for all on board Flying Fish - Flying Cloud
