The biggest stage. Two very different chances.

The 2026 TAB Everest is at Royal Randwick this Saturday, and the stable will saddle two runners in the $20 million sprint.

BLUE DOOR arrives as one of the most exciting young sprinters in the country. The three-year-old filly announced herself with a record-breaking win in the Group 3 Heritage Stakes, earning her place among the sport’s elite. Barrier 9, Jamie Melham rides. Singo’s horse, Newgate’s slot.

CABALLUS brings Group 1-winning class, having claimed the Newmarket Handicap earlier this year. Now he gets his chance on racing’s biggest stage. Barrier 10, Tim Clark rides. Darby’s horse, James Harron’s slot.

The opposition is formidable and the stakes are enormous. On a day like this, everything has to go right.

WARWOVEN has just completed one of the most coveted Group 1 doubles for a three-year-old c**t in winning both the Golden Rose and the Caulfield Guineas. But the versatility behind those wins is what makes Warwoven’s profile so compelling. He showed winning ability as a two-year-old before Christmas, won a 1200m Group 3 at two, and has now won the Golden Rose over 1400m and the Caulfield Guineas over 1600m as a three-year-old. What. A. It’s official! I may well need a Calming Influence on Everest Day, with Group 1 Newmarket winner CABALLUS (I Am Invincible ex Calming Influence) set to line up in the 2026 The Everest. An underrated sprinter with excellent credentials, I’m thrilled he’ll take on such an exciting field. I’ve enjoyed a long and successful association with Darby Racing, and we’re excited to be joining forces with respected Bloodstock Agent, James Harron. Tim Clark rides.

Before the rest of Sydney wakes, the working day is already well underway.

For the first time ever, Bjorn’s wife Andrea Baker came to trackwork, iphone in hand, and spent the morning providing an unobtrusive yet thoroughly authentic glimpse of what happens on fast gallop morning.

Star 3YO c**ts WARWOVEN and PARADOXIUM and Everest contender BLUE DOOR feature among the gallops, but this is really about the work behind the racing.
