Online coaching went from being something only elite-level strength athletes knew about to - going mainstream.

There are a range of reasons for this:
- Value for money
- Being able to work with a specialised coach regardless of their location
- continuous communication rather than just during a PT session or class time
- The quality of feedback given through software like Loom is in many ways more in-depth and detailed than what can be achieved in person (recording audio-visual feedback while going frame by frame over someone's videos to provide technique feedback)
- And many more…

That doesn’t mean here at we have relegated in-person coaching hours to the past.

Changes in a person’s technique can often be made more efficiently in person, the interpersonal communication can be hard separated by a screen. Building a personal relationship with a client is fundamentally the key to getting the best out of them!

Many of our athletes benefit from having a team of coaches. One that specialises in a particular discipline writing the program, giving video feedback, and checking in with the person as well as having access to coaches on the floor the help with the day-to-day implementation of that training.

and for the strongmen/women across all of our branches,  for weightlifting,  for endurance and SnC,  for our combat athletes, and our powerlifting specialists

If you are looking for the flexibility and expertise of an online coach but still want to see someone in person, send us a DM and we can show you what we have to offer.

210kgs.

Blake has had a bit of a rough prep leading up to nationals but things are definitely coming together. This is by far the best 200+ has ever moved in training!

One of the main mistakes lifters can make when they are chasing muscle building is how light they pick their weight for the set they are doing.

By the time you finish your final rep of each set you should be close to muscular failure. If you still easily have 4-5+ reps left in the tank you likely aren't going to be building muscle as effectively as possible.

Fatiguing more of the fibres of the muscle is important, arguably along with buildup of waste products in the muscle as a signal for muscle development.

You don't have to get to complete failure every set of every exercise but you should be at least close - about 3 reps or less within failure.

Obviously don't do this with technical exercises that could expose you to injury such as deadlifts or squats. Stay clear of failure and therefore technique breakdown on these exercises.

One of our OG members is heading back home to NZ, so we gave him the farewell he deserves!

When he stepped through our doors 4 years ago, he was looking for a place to be inspired and grow as a person, and as a lifter. He was somebody who wanted to turn his life around for the better, and become STRONG in all aspects of life.

He had all the drive in the world, but just needed a community of like minded people and an environment conducive of strength!

Fast forward 4 years...he is now hardly recognizable (see next photo) đź‘€

Getting big and strong is fun and all, but perhaps what matters the most is we all became closest friends and even family. We always had his back from Day 1 and that is what we strive to do...it is WHO WE ARE

We're going to miss you and we appreciate you letting us be part of your journey 🙏

There's no need to rush through your warmup sets to reach your working set. Sometimes you just need a bit more practice to get going.

There is no hard set rule that once you’ve warmed up with the bar that you NEED to jump up to the next weight. Warm up with the bar again - hell warm up with it 3 more times if you need to.

If you're rushed for time, different story, in which case you need to re-think your strategy on the way to the gym or what you do with your time between warmups. If you're working with a sub 60% weight, maybe you can afford to take less time between warmups or simply do more reps per set.

The point is once your working sets are important. If you do them like s**t did you really get the most out of them when you could have spent just a few more minutes to make them worthwhile?

It could be anyone from your coach to your training partner(s), your fellow gym or team members or even the staff at where you train.
