Celebrating the dads who lead by example, encourage every step and share in the journey. 🥋💙

This Father’s Day, we recognise the strength, support and special moments that happen both in and beyond the dojo.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads and father figures in our community!

On behalf of Karate Australia, I wish to express our deepest sympathies to the Bradford family and the entire Goshin-Ryu karate family for the tragic loss of Sensei Richard Bradford.

Richard was a highly influential figure in Australian karate, particularly throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. As one of Karate Australia’s most successful National Coaches, he played an important role in the development of our athletes and the growth of Australian karate on the international stage. He helped shape a generation of competitors and coaches which included our first ever World Champion, and his contribution to the National Team during this important era will long be remembered.

He was a well-respected member of Karate Australia and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

With sympathy,

Hani Zahra

A proud moment for Guardian Girls Karate Australia and National Program Director, Liz Mahler. 🥋💜

We are incredibly honoured to have Guardian Girls Karate recognised in NSW Parliament through a Community Recognition Statement delivered by Liesl Tesch MP, Member for Gosford.

This recognition acknowledges the important work of Guardian Girls Karate in empowering women and girls through confidence, awareness, personal safety and practical skills.

What began with a simple purpose continues to grow — creating safer, stronger and more confident women and girls through karate.

Thank you to Liesl Tesch MP for recognising the program and the impact it is making in our community.

Recognition like this inspires us to keep going, keep growing and keep empowering.

This week, karate clubs across Australia have stood together to say:

Bullying. No Way.

Through confidence, respect, inclusion and courage, our karate community is helping young people build strength of character both inside and outside the dojo.

Thank you to every club, instructor, volunteer, parent and student who helped share this message. đź’š

Together, we are building stronger people and stronger communities, one dojo at a time.
