Sydney Motorsport Park Experience Day Highlights 📸
Friday 17th April 2026 🗓️
Some days carry a little more meaning.
This one belonged to Paul Stockley.
Paul joined us on track on his actual birthday, alongside his brother Darryl - both long-time Anglo drivers who have progressed through:
Stage 1 → Stage 2 → Stage 3
Not chasing racing.
Not chasing lap times.
Just doing what they enjoy - getting in the car and driving.
And that’s exactly what this is about.
Happy Birthday Paul, from the entire Anglo Team. 🥳
🏎️ The Return of the 2-Seater
Another milestone from the day:
The 2-Seater Formula Ford returned to the track following its recent engine rebuild.
And it didn’t take long to see the impact.
Passengers back in the car.
Smiles back in the pit lane.
That first-lap reaction - every single time.
This isn’t just an add-on.
It’s often the moment that turns spectators into future drivers.

👨🔧 Behind The Scenes - RF86 Van Diemen - Restoration Complete ✅
There comes a point in every restoration where the focus shifts.
From building…
To validating…
To handing it back.
The RF86 Van Diemen has now reached that point.
From Workshop Floor to Race Grid
What began as a full restoration project has now been completed - not just cosmetically, but mechanically and dynamically.
Every system has been:
Rebuilt
Reassembled
Set up
Verified
And most importantly… tested with intent.
Following the final setup phase where ride heights, corner weights and suspension geometry were dialed in - the car has now been returned to its owner, ready for competition.

Sydney Motorsport Park Experience Day Highlights 📸
Friday 10th April 2026 🗓️
Morning Session: Stage 2 on the Full Amaroo South Circuit
Afternoon: Stage 1 sessions
Stage 2 drivers stepped up to a more technical layout - elevation changes, tighter sequencing, and a circuit that demands precision over aggression.
The difference is clear:
Stage 1 introduces the car.
Stage 2 starts to shape the driver.
Watching drivers transition between the two reinforces why this progression exists.

👨🔧 Behind The Scenes - Formula 3 Drivetrain Issue
Not every problem announces itself clearly.
This Formula 3 car arrived in the workshop with a loss of drive, the kind of issue that can stem from multiple areas: clutch, gearbox, or drivetrain.
The initial symptoms pointed broadly, but as with any race car, assumptions aren’t good enough.
Everything needs to be verified.
The process began with systematic inspection:
Clutch operation and engagement
Gearbox response and load transfer
Drivetrain components under rotation
Once stripped back and assessed, the root cause became clear - a worn tripode joint at the end of the driveshaft.
It’s a small component, but a critical one.
When it fails, the result is exactly what we saw: loss of effective drive under load.
👀 Why This Car Matters
This isn’t just any Formula 3 chassis.
This particular car was raced by Romain Grosjean during his progression through Formula 3 - part of the journey that ultimately led him to Formula 1.
Cars like this represent a different level of engineering:
Highly sensitive to component wear
Built for precision under load
Zero tolerance for mechanical inefficiency
✅ The Anglo Approach
Diagnosing issues like this isn’t about guesswork, it’s about process.
Break it down.
Inspect every system.
Identify the failure point.
Resolve it properly.
Because whether it’s a customer track car or a piece of motorsport history, the standard doesn’t change.
If it comes through our workshop - it gets done right.

.47 Eli Patten Delivers Breakthrough Weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park 🏆
The 2026 NSW Formula Ford Championship kicked off at Sydney Motorsport Park and it marked a defining moment for Eli Patten.
From the outset, the pace was clear.
A standout qualifying performance saw Eli secure outright pole position, immediately positioning himself as a serious contender for the weekend.
From Potential to Performance
What followed wasn’t just speed, it was ex*****on.
Against a competitive field, Eli demonstrated composure, race craft, and consistency across all three races:
🏆 Race 1 – 1st Overall (Outright Win)
🥇 Race 2 – 1st in Class, 3rd Overall
🥇 Race 3 – 1st in Class, 3rd Overall
This result delivered Eli’s first-ever Formula Ford race win, a milestone that reflects both talent and the progression of a developing driver stepping into competitive motorsport.
Race Craft Under Pressure
The images from the weekend tell the story.
Wheel-to-wheel battles.
Precision through the Amaroo circuit.
Calculated aggression when it mattered most.
Particularly in Race 1 and Race 3, Eli was pushed and he responded. That ability to perform under pressure is what separates participation from competition.
Backed by Experience
Behind every strong performance is a structured environment.
Eli worked closely with our Anglo Australian Motorsport team, receiving on-track guidance from Tim and additional support from experienced figures within the category including Formula Ford Champion - Rob Storey who drove the very same car that Eli is now competing in.
The result is a driver who is not just fast, but developing the technical understanding required to progress further in motorsport.
A Strong Foundation for the Season Ahead
Round 1 sets the tone.
Pole position.
Race win.
Consistent podium-level performance.
More importantly - measurable progression.
This is exactly what the early stages of a racing career should look like.
Well done Eli. 👏
