I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Jack McCoy last night. I first met Jack in the water at Avalon when he wanted a go on my handplane, and swapped me for his Paipo (another first). He was a true legend, and I'll miss running into him.
RIP Jack, and condolences to his family ♥️

That's a wrap on another epic weekend. There was camping, amazing food, whales, kookaburras, good vibes, excellent folk, and of course, whomping!
See you all again this time next year 🤙🤙

This week has seen some of the biggest surf I've seen in Sydney. And by a lucky coincidence, big-wave bodysurfer Kalani Lattanzi was in town and surfed some amazing waves!
‘I’ve just got to do it’: Bodysurfing six-metre waves in Speedos
Kalani Lattanzi’s wetsuit was weighing him down as he paddled into Sydney’s monster swell on Monday. So the Brazilian stripped down to his Speedos and flippers.

Avalon rights.
What a great session with the on the weekend! 15 whompers in the water was enough to carve out a corner of the beach to ourselves.
Thanks for organising 🤙

Our Brother Needs Our Help.
Wedgend (Wedge legend) Mel Thoman has been hit hard with the C-Bomb. Mel has dodged heaps of melanomas in the past, but has recently been told more drastic action is needed and he NEEDS OUR SUPPORT.
The purveyor of stoke has been a bastion of bodysurfing for many years and now it's time for the family to give back to the man who has given so much.
Please help Mel on his journey with a small donation to his GoFundMe account:
https://gofund.me/0989e24f
Donations go towards funding Mel's expensive treatment and teaching him how to spell the word Leukaemia!
In all seriousness though, leukaemia is no laughing matter and every single dollar will help Mel in his treatment and recovery. Love ya Mel. Stay tough champion.

Great article with The Coast News, featuring our favourite Del Marian Meredith Rose, the Del Mar BodySurfing Club and some random character called Vince Askew...
Seems like the only thing askew in this article was their spelling of Vince Askey's name!!
Sports Talk: Del Mar BodySurfing Club is long on waves and fun - The Coast News Group
Meredith Rose eyes the ocean blue off Del Mar and into the water she goes. “I used to be a board surfer but I transitioned to bodysurfing because it’s just you and the ocean,” she said. “There really isn’t a lot of equipment.” Rose pierces the waves almost daily but she’s hardly alone,...
