Oven Bush Cook

Once again, we had the privilege of using one of our member's beautiful properties to host a bush cook day. The day began with the gathering of firewood and setting up the fire drums to create the perfect coals. Everyone had the chance to cook their own meals in a camp oven, with some trying it for the very first time. The members shared in a feast of magnificent food, with the picturesque farm providing a stunning backdrop for the meal.

The Annual pool competition was once again a great event, bringing together members for a memorable day of friendly rivalry and camaraderie.

Pre-Competition Activities

A few of the members arrived in town early and took the opportunity to enjoy a round of golf, making the most of the local amenities before the main event began.

Meanwhile, others chose to explore the scenic town by bicycle, appreciating the picturesque surroundings and adding to the atmosphere of the occasion.

June Trips – Xmas in July (June)

This is our annual Yule festival normally celebrated in July but due to scheduling issues was held in June. This is a weekend that a few of the club members help organise a dinner for the club. This year we had a feast of smoked brisket could for 8 hours, Pork on the spit, Smoked chicken wings, Potato bake and Vegetable cook over the coals. This is an event where the whole club helps, cutting up the vegs, collecting firewood and cooking.

June trips – Kings Birthday
Denman NSW: Thursday night headed to Bulga for a free camp then off to Denman the next morning. Camped behind the Royal Hotel. A great camp spot. My partner and I walked up to the Two Rivers winery as we waited for everyone to arrive. The club members arrived in dribs and drabs throughout Friday and we enjoyed a great meal at the Pub that night.

Saturday: Went to the Festival of the Fleece in Merriwa. What a great event; plenty of stalls, the Parade was great and watching the working dogs is always fun.

Sunday: We went for a trip out the back of Singleton to find the Timor Caves and the Washpools in Towarri National Park. Alas we failed to find the caves but the scenery and washpools were awesome.

Over the Anzac weekend there was a trip run to Temora. To watch the V8 jet boats. We camped a Temora showground. As we arrived Wednesday prior to the boats on Saturday. Thursday and Friday we did 2 day trip around the area. Only 2 members on the trip but it was a fantastic weekend. If you haven't watched the V8 jet boats I recommend you do .
