George Bishop was a respected Balmain Tigers player, remembered not only for his commitment and consistency, but also for his representative honours at New South Wales and Australian level. He returned to Balmain in 1927 and made a strong impact, finishing as the club’s top tryscorer that season before going on to earn selection for the Kangaroo Tour and play in Test matches against Great Britain. His career reflected both skill and durability, and he remains an important part of Balmain’s early history.

Remembering Champions:
Alf Fraser was a rugged forward who became a mainstay of Balmain's golden era, running out in more than 120 first grade games for the Tigers between 1916 and the mid-1920s and helping deliver multiple premierships to the black and gold.
He later returned to the club as coach, guiding Balmain through the late 1920s and early 1930s and helping to develop the next generation of Tigers who would carry on the tough, no-nonsense style that defined those early championship hyears
