Roselands Swimming Club

Hi everyone,
you may have noticed that the club page hasn't been very active for a while. At the beginning of last season, we were unfortunately not able to attract enough financial or life members to the AGM to achieve the required quorum of 10 members, even on the 2nd attempt.
Since then, I have been mulling over what to do with the club as a legal entity. One of the issues we faced in attracting new, younger swimmers to the club, is that the coaching team now in charge at the pool also have their own separate Swim Club, and it is very hard to compete with them for new members who they are also coaching from day to day.
One alternative I have considered, could be to reinvent the club as an Aussies Masters Swim Club, focusing on members in the 18+ age range. For anything like this to proceed, I would need to receive enough expressions of interest from persons who would be interested in joining and playing an active part. One of the benefits is that the club still has some funds in the bank account, and would likely be able to continue receiving support from our previous sponsors.
Without at least 10 financial or life members participating, I will have no choice but to wind the club up as a legal entity and disburse any remaining funds as per the constitution.

Hi everyone! After some delay, we now have approval from council to resume swimming for summer season 2021-2022. The current plan is to have our first meet on Sunday 12th December 8:30am. Memberships can be renewed via https://roselands.swimming.org.au/
You should be able to use the NSW Active Kids vouchers for under 18s. We will also be offering a 50% refund on the first 20 members who sign up or renew before 31st December 2021.

Hi all,
please be advised that, due to the recent decision by Canterbury Bankstown council to close all their public swimming pools, our summer series has come to and end a little earlier than planned. Thank you for your understanding. We will advise in due course on whether a Winter season will be held this year.
