✨THE WOMAN BEHIND VAUDEVILLE FUSION

I thought it was time to share a little more about me, the person behind Vaudeville Fusion.

Dance and music have been part of my life since I was 5 — ballet, tap, jazz, competitive artistic roller skating, piano, alto saxophone, singing, performing with bands and even a little musical theatre.
Then life happened 🥰

I became a single mum and have spent years raising my children while navigating life with kids on the autism spectrum and ADHD. I’m still raising two of my three kids today, and somewhere along the way, my own passions were put aside while I focused on being there for everyone else.
Living with chronic pain and invisible disabilities myself , I know firsthand that sometimes the things people can't see are the things that take the most energy.

Life is a juggle — but I've never lived with a "poor me" mentality. I always see the glass has half full (even after having a 5 minute menty B first)😂

Eventually I decided it was time to take a piece of my life back, and I found that through burlesque.

What started as something I wanted to try, gave me confidence, strength and freedom. It helped me reconnect with myself, and eventually I realised I wanted to help other people experience that feeling too.
And that's where Vaudeville Fusion came from. ❤️

It is more than a dance studio to me. It's a space where people can come exactly as they are, try something new, build confidence, make friends and feel like they belong.

Behind the scenes, it is also a small business that takes a huge amount of time, money and work to keep running. There are many expenses, planning, administration, venues, equipment, advertising, shows and countless hours that people simply don't see.
I don’t currently pay myself for all the work that goes into Vaudeville Fusion. I work multiple jobs alongside it, but I continue to pour my time, energy and passion into creating this space because seeing people find confidence, connection and joy brings me so much happiness.

Much of what comes into Vaudeville Fusion goes straight back into creating opportunities and experiences for my students, and ensuring that this space continues into the future.

So yes, I'm incredibly proud of what I've built — and I'm protective of it.
This is my business, my investment, my ideas and a huge part of my life.

I'm always open to constructive ideas and respectful conversations. I don't expect everyone to agree with every decision I make.
But I do expect one thing from my community:

Kindness. Respect. Acceptance. Support.

People come here to escape some of the things life throws at them. I want Vaudeville Fusion to be a positive place where everyone feels welcome, accepted and supported, regardless of age, size, ability, experience or where they are in life.

That's the Vaudeville Fusion I created.

And after everything life has thrown at me, I'm pretty damn proud that I did. ❤️

Wow!! I can’t believe this is our last week of courses already.
Willow still has 3 spots in her new course Hypnotease starting next Monday, and Getty has 3 spots left in Razzle Dazzle starting Wednesday 27th.

There are still spots in our dance workshop on August 23rd.

Just a quick note to let you all know there are only 2 spots left in Betty’s Slow Burn course, 3 spots in Razzle Dazzle, and 2 spots in Willows Hypnotease.

If you intend to do any of these you will need to pay asap because once they’re filled we can’t fit anymore in. Unfortunately due to popularity we cannot hold any spots. Don’t catch that FOMO!!

And for all of you who aren’t yet sure about committing to a course, we have one last casual class for this year on Thursday night.

Lastly… Don’t forget our dance (not burlesque) workshop with Callysta on August 23rd. This is for those who are looking for more of a dance class, who has some dance experience and isn’t afraid of pushing themselves out of their comfort zone!!

✨ Course & Showcase Information ✨

Whether you're joining Vaudeville Fusion for the first time or you're one of our returning students, here are a few important reminders.

🎭 Course Minimum Numbers
All courses require a minimum of 3 students to proceed.
If a course doesn't reach minimum numbers, it will be cancelled one week prior to the course commencing.
Students will be offered the option to transfer to another course or receive a full refund.

💃 Courses & Performances
Our courses are designed as learning courses, not performance courses.
You're welcome to enrol in as many courses as you like; however, you'll be asked to nominate up to two routines that you'd like to be considered for the Student Showcase.

Please note that nominating a routine does not guarantee it will be selected for the showcase. Final routine selection is at Betty's discretion and will depend on a number of factors, including the total number of routines, showcase running time, variety, and the overall flow of the production.

Students selected to perform will be required to attend a Performance Intensive Course before the showcase.

🌟 Solo Performance Opportunities
For this showcase, solo tuition will only be offered by Betty.
To ensure solos fit within the showcase, there will be only four solo positions available:

• 5-week course
• 45-minute private lessons
• 2 places available

✨ Round 2
📅 Starts 24 September
• 4-week course
• 1-hour private lessons
• 2 places available

These four positions are the only solo opportunities available for this showcase. Please don't leave your enquiry until the last minute—once all places are filled, no additional solo spots will be offered.
