The time is fast approaching to grab ‘Ya’ boots and grab ‘Ya’ cowboy hat for a good ‘ol’ fashioned Barn Dance presented by Dancensations on August 22.
Dancensations owner Melissa Wyatt said the Barn Dance was a sell out in its first instalment last year and this time round all the favourites will be back including line dancing and live entertainment.
“There’ll be a bonfire to relax around and we also have Combi Keg Mobile Bar, so you can grab a drink and sit around the fire if line dancing is not your thing because there’ll be plenty of that. All the line dancing is taught by myself,” she said.
“It’s at The Farm, Plumeria Road, Black River. It is on Saturday August 22 and there’s free overnight camping thanks to Rick at The Farm.
“It’s $65 per person. Under 18 is $40 a person and under 8s are free. You can also get a group of 10 for $60 per person and it starts at 5.00pm, finishes at 10.30pm,” she said.

🤠 BOOT SCOOTING INTO THE WEEKEND 💃🕺

Saturday Brekky host Jess Naunton went into the studio expecting a chat about the Barn Dance 2026… and walked out with a brand-new skill. 🎶

Event organiser Melissa Wyatt put Jess through her line dancing paces LIVE on air proving that apparently you don't need rhythm, experience or even a dance partner to get your boots moving.

As Melissa put it “line dancing is super fun, but you also don't need a partner, you don't have to hang onto anyone or rely on anyone, you can just do your own thing.”

And if you're worried about getting the steps wrong? Melissa had some reassurance, “You can make it as easy or as hard as you want.” 👢

The Barn Dance 2026 is hitting the dance floor in just two weeks, with country tunes, line dancing and plenty of chances to kick up your heels, whether you're a seasoned boot scooter or a complete beginner.
