Your protein bar might be lying to you.

High protein on the front does not mean healthy on the inside. A lot of these are just ultra processed snacks wearing designer gym sets, sugar and saturated fat included.

Here is the thing nobody tells you though: most women reaching for a bar are not actually hitting their protein target through food in the first place.

Swipe through for the number I actually give my clients, and the trick I use to check a label in ten seconds flat.

Comment BARS and I will send you the three I actually keep in my own gym bag.

Coaching women on the Sapphire Coast, in person and online.

The real reason I want you lifting heavy isn't your arms, it's your bones.
Bone density starts declining from your thirties, and strength training is one of the few things that actually protects it.

Food isn't something you earn with a workout or lose the right to after a bad week.
That mindset isn't discipline, it's diet culture and a slippery slope to body dysmorphia in gym clothes.

Not every "workout" happens in a gym.

Today it's a snowboard under my arm and a soft snow hill in front of me.

This is exactly why I train the way I do with my clients, strength that holds up outside the gym, not just inside it.

If your training isn't carrying over to real life, we need to talk.

5 things you need to know when tracking your food in MyFitnessPal

I see it constantly. Clients using MFP with the best intentions, but small setup mistakes are quietly throwing their numbers off.

Swipe through for the ones that matter most:

- Don't use the calorie/macro target MFP gives you. Use the one your coach prescribes.
- Don't let MFP add your exercise calories back.
- A scanned barcode isn't automatically correct. Always check it against the label.
- Raw vs cooked, serving size, and the little things (oils, sauces, milk in coffee) all count.
- Double check your units, brand match, and that you're weighing the edible portion.

Tracking only works if what you're logging actually reflects what you ate. Get these right and your numbers finally start telling you the truth.

Save this for the next time you're setting up your diary, and send it to a friend who needs it too.

The September Recipe Book is live!
25 macro-friendly recipes, and it's easily one of my favourite perks to hand my clients.

Breakfasts, mains, snacks, desserts, even a few "fakeaway" versions of the stuff you're already craving (McDonald's bacon & egg muffin and Hungry Jack's napoletana burger, I see you).

This is exactly why I love what I do, you shouldn't have to choose between eating food you actually enjoy and hitting your goals. My job is to show you they were never mutually exclusive in the first place.

If you're one of my clients, go check your app, it's ready for you now. If you're not (yet), this is a taste of what training with me actually looks like.

Alright, five diet rules I need you to break this week.

I used to think being "good" meant eating less and moving more, full stop. Cool story, didn't work, mostly just made me obsessed with food and s**t at everything else.

You don't have to sweat for your dinner.
"Clean eating" is a marketing term some guy invented to sell you supplements to earn his commission.
One bad meal isn't a moral failing, it's a Thursday night full of kids sports.
Carbs aren't the enemy, your relationship with food might just need some actual attention instead of another rule.
And no, the scale doesn't get a vote on your worth, it's a piece of glass and metal that also fluctuates because you haven't taken a s**t yet.

Pick one and actually break it this week.
Or DM me READY and I'll just tell you which one.

Wanting to feel attractive again doesn't make you shallow. It makes you human.

Somewhere between the sleepless nights and putting everyone else's needs before your own, it's easy to feel like a stranger in your own body. Wanting to feel like yourself again isn't vanity, it's not about a number, a size, or anyone else's opinion. It's about coming back to you.

You're allowed to want that.
You don't need permission, and you definitely don't need to feel guilty about it.

Putting yourself last isn't a virtue. It's a habit. And guess what, habits can absolutely change.
Here's where to start.

Somewhere along the way, "good mum" got confused with "invisible woman."
The one who eats standing up.
Who's last in the shower queue.
Whose own goals get pushed to "when things calm down" (a day that never actually comes.)

Putting everyone else first doesn't make you noble. It makes you tired. And it teaches the people around you that your needs are optional. When they're not.

Changing this doesn't mean flipping to selfish overnight.
It means starting stupidly small: one meal a day that's actually just for you.
One 20-minute session where you're the priority, not an afterthought.
One boundary you stop apologising for.
