π Women in Touch β Week 2 Wrap-Up! π
What a fantastic second week of our Women in Touch Football Program! It was wonderful to welcome even more women along this week, including some new faces keen to learn more about the game. Everyone brought a great attitude, had a go and supported one another throughout the evening.
This week we built on the skills introduced in Week 1, with plenty of fun and time with the footy! The session included:
β’ πββοΈ Pass Tag to warm up and practise scoring tries
β’ π Running lines and passing backwards
β’ π Practising taking a tap, rollballs and being dummy half
β’ π Rucking in groups of three, with players rotating through different roles
β’ β‘ Scramble, a fun attacking and defending activity
β’ π Finishing off with a game, giving everyone the chance to put their new skills into action!
π Come and join us for Week 3!
We'd LOVE to see even more women join us this Thursday evening!

The Warrnambool Touch Football Club is encouraging local women and girls to get involved in a free offering over coming weeks.
They are currently running a free Women & Girls program aimed at getting more women and girls active and connected through sport.
Vice President Hannah Holmes, says no experience or cost is required for the sessions, which run between 6 and 7pm on a Thursday.
"it's a free program run on Thursdays at the Deakin University Oval, thanks to support from the Warrnambool City Council and Touch Football Victoria" she said.
"So we're just running a few drills, starts off socializing, learn the rules of the game, and yeah, have an hour of fun fitness"
The first of four sessions was held last Thursday, but the club stressed it's not too late to get invovled.
"We welcome anyone who's never even touched a football, or if you're even if you're experienced, everyone's welcome" Ms Holmes said.
"Just show up, you don't need to pre-register, just show up and we'll handle it all from there"
"First session went really well, we had a number of people that have that joined us"
"We ran through some passing drills, ran through the basic rules of what to do when you get touched, and combined all those drills that we ran and played sort of a mock game 3v3 at the end of it."

π Women in Touch β Week 1
What a great way to kick off our Women in Touch Program at Deakin University Oval last night! It was fantastic to welcome some new faces who were keen to learn more about Touch Football, alongside current Warrnambool Touch Football members who were there to support, encourage and join in the fun.
The night was all about connection, confidence, skills and having a go. The group worked through passing and catching, passing on the run, rollballs, dummy-half pick-ups, making a touch and some simple attacking and defending activities before putting it all together in a game to finish the night.
There were plenty of laughs, lots of encouragement and some great improvement as the night went on! Most importantly, everyone gave it their best, regardless of whether they were picking up a Touch Football for the first time or already had some playing experience.
Missed last night? Youβre definitely not too late! π Our FREE Women in Touch Program continues for the next three Thursday nights from 6:00β7:00pm at Deakin University Oval. New and current participants are very welcome to join us at any stage β come along, meet some great people, learn some new skills and have some fun!
