Central Districts Tennis Association- Zone Coaching.
This coaching, coordinated by the Central Districts Tennis Association is for juniors who are wanting to participate in tournaments or represent their zone at D’Arcy Slater and foundation cup events.

Spread the word to any 13-18 year old girls who would be interested in 4 weeks of FREE tennis coaching and cardio tennis happening at the club. Thanks to the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for supporting this initiative.

What a great opportunity to be able to learn and evolve within the club. If anyone is interested please see the flyer attached. This program provides clubs with access to equipment, resources and support to help deliver Cardio Tennis and Hot Shots sessions independently when there is limited availability to qualified TA coaches. What an amazing opportunity for our club that continues to strengthen and grow.

🌟Our 2026 zone junior coaching series is ready to book! 🌟

❗️Spots are limited due to coaching availability and max numbers set per group. So get in early! Preference may be given to players who are aiming to get selected for our zone representation opportunities.
All sessions this year will be at York Lawn Tennis Club 🎾

Things to know.....

1. Beginners is usually 6-8yr olds, Intermediate 8-10yrs and advanced 10-14yrs. This of course also depends on previous experience and ability.
2. This coaching is aimed at those children who have already SOME tennis coaching under their belt but want to start to or continue to play in tournaments around our zone.
3. If your child wants to be considered for selection to represent our zone at the 2026 D'Arcy Slater & Foundation Cups in Bunbury on Sun 25th- Wed 28th October, they must be enrolled in the ADVANCED group and attend at least the Perth Day Camp on Sun 18th Oct (separate cost and booking).
4. If you can only make one of the three sessions, please send an email to discuss alternative payment options. Preference may be given to those who are going to D'Arcy Slater/ Foundation Cup.
5. If your child has never done tennis coaching before, please look to connect with your local tennis club instead to see what junior coaching they will be offering as a club in term 4.

Tennis is fast approaching and the new committee is busy preparing for the upcoming tennis season, which promises to be a memorable one as the York Lawn Tennis Club prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in February 2027.
Reminder to share with any past members and gather old photos or memorabilia.

We have been successful in securing a $5000 grant from the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport to deliver a tennis program ( Drop Shot Divas) to increase the participation of girls aged 13-18 years in tennis.
Thanks to our junior members Paige and Chelsea for their input and ideas to help secure this grant for the club.
We will be running 4 weeks of coaching for girls (and any ladies who are new to tennis and want to improve their skills) which will include a mix of skills and cardio tennis for fun and exercise to music and an additional 2 sessions in the school holidays.
There will be some additional lessons available for members who want coaching while Renee (coach) is in York delivering these sessions.

Top Spin Tuesdays continue to be a hit. If you are keen for a mid-week hit please reach out to James or BD for further information.

Tennis wrapped up for the 25/26 season on the 29th March with the AGM and presentations. A big thank you to AFGRI for your sponsorship towards the celebration meal.
A highlight was the announcement of 2 new Life Members- Gary Lawrance and Graeme Allen. Congratulations on the recognition of your service to the club. Congratulations also to all the winners of the championship and handicap events held throughout the season and thanks to all the sponsors of these events- see attached photos. Another great season of tennis.
