On Sunday, July 12, 2026, a group of anonymous mountaineers climbed the spires overlooking the Chamonix to hang a huge Palestinian flag between the Grand Charmoz and the Grépon.

Suspended high on some of the most inaccessible ridges of the massif, at an altitude of 3,500 metres, and visible from across the town especially from the Place du Mont-Blanc, where the competition is taking place, the giant flag is intended as a symbol of hope, solidarity, resistance and freedom.

On July 23, World Climbing’s National Federations will vote on motions recommending the suspension of the Israeli, Russian and Belarusian federations from participation in World Climbing’s institutional activities.

The absence of a clear framework on this issue was one of the reasons we had to cancel the European Youth Series event planned last May at our venue Le camp avancé.

We hope the issue will not once again be set aside, and that the World Climbing Executive Board will follow the recommendations resulting from the vote.

This Saturday from 18h to 21h we organize a climbing session in CHOSEN-MIXITY for women and gender minorities.

The climbing gym will therefore be accessible only to 𝕎𝕀ℕ𝕋𝔸* people: 𝕎omen, 𝕀ntersex people, ℕon-Binary people, 𝕋rans or 𝔸gender people.
*We changed the 𝔽 with the 𝕎 to make it more universal.

For those not concerned (=cis men) please respect this moment 🙏

The idea is to create a breath of fresh air so that WINTA people can express themselves in their practice of climbing. Sheltered from judgments and oppressive behaviors. This moment will also be an opportunity to create sisterhood dynamics and allow these people to take over the entire space for one evening.
