We need to correct an important mistake from tonight’s prize-giving ceremony.

While we are incredibly proud of today’s Salt Pans Ultra, we unfortunately announced the incorrect podium positions for the 100 km race.

The winner was correctly announced as Marinus Allemekinders.

However, the correct podium is:

🥇 1st – Marinus Allemekinders
🥈 2nd – Trevor Matlaka
🥉 3rd – Tseko Sebego

We are still reviewing what caused the error and will publish the confirmed official times once this has been resolved.

Most importantly, we sincerely apologise to Trevor and Tseko. After the exceptional races they delivered today, they deserved to have their achievements recognised properly at the prize-giving ceremony.

We understand the disappointment and frustration this mistake caused, particularly after what had otherwise been such a special evening.

We take responsibility for getting this wrong, and we will make sure the results are corrected and the athletes receive the recognition they deserve.

Congratulations again to Marinus, Trevor and Tseko on outstanding performances at the 2026 Salt Pans Ultra.
