2026-2027 PRELIMINARY FDN DISTANCE CHART

Now that the Northern Blocks Promotional playoffs have been completed and completing the FDN league teams, this is how our distance chart is likely to be, at the start of the new season.

1. Last season, we successfully completed roughly 20,000 kilometers of journeys to honour our away games.

2. This coming season, the distance decreases a little bit.

3. Twice times to Mahalapye.

4. Once to Sefhare and Taupye (the 2 villages seem to be of equal distance).

5. Once to Francistown and Serowe.

6. Once to Tutume and Mosetse.

7. Twice to Kasane.

8. Lastly, once to our neighbour and fellow Ngamilander Sankoyo Bush Bucks FC in Maun.

NOTE:

8. It is about 1,121km from Shakawe to Gaborone via A35, A3, A2 and A12.

9. We are informed by our well wishers that last season, we are the only BFA affiliate to have travelled longer distance than any team in Botswana.

10. Other informants are insinuating that, with the exception of Sankoyo Bush Bucks, no other team have covered 20,000 kilometers in 1 season.

Re tsamaisa nako by reminiscing on this journey whilst waiting for the transfer window to officially open.

Just like last season, please flood our inbox. We are promising to go all out.

Thank you.

GREAT LEADERS IN FOOTBALL (PART II)

In early 2008, the Okavango Delta Management Plan was adopted by the government of Botswana.

This led to the whole of Ngamiland being declared a planning area. This meant that every parcel of land to be allocated by the land authority will have to be zoned first.

Mr. Josphat Jackalas later on became Physical Planner for Okavango Sub District Council. Him and his team's role was to ensure that all the land in Okavango is surveyed and zoned.

Ndundu Young Fighters Sporting Club had occupied a piece of land at ShaNduva's farm. Those not familiar with Mbukushu language must know that Sha is a prefix commonly referring to a He or father. Eg. Sha-Nametso (Rra Nametso), Sha-Gaone (Rra Gaone), Sha-Kawe etc.

ShaNduva's farm was later bought by government and zoned it as Shakawe Bus Rank.

Because the team had occupied a corner of that farm, Mr. Jackalas and his team didn't chase away Ndundu Young Fighters from that remaining piece of land.

This, he understood the value of football. Had they chased Ndundu Young Fighters away, who knows, maybe the team could have disbanded because of lack of playing ground.

In the past season, I think most of you have seen that most First Division North League teams relied on primary schools as their host grounds.

Ndundu Young Fighters was later allocated the plot and it is now referred to as Ndundu Sports Arena.

Mr. Jackalas in the 2024-25 season was the Chairman of Nhabe Regional Football Association. He was physically there in Letlhakane when Ndundu Young Fighters was crowned Northern Blocks champion and joined First Division.

I will be waiting for you all to confirm for me if there is any Chairperson who led 2 different teams promoting to First Division North League consecutively.

In the past season of 2025-26, Mr. Jackalas was and is currently the Chairman of Makgadikgadi Regional Football Association.

He was there in Kasane yesterday, leading Mosetse FC in lifting the Northern Blocks championship trophy.

This is indeed an incredible man.

Happily and lastly, long live JJ.

GREAT LEADERS IN FOOTBALL (PART I)

Go ya ka ngwao ya bo ntsalake Baherero. Kana bo ntsalake ga bana mosola.

Ba dumela gore motho fa ele monkane wa gago, fa o mo dumedisa, o a mo rwaaka pele.

Maloba yo mongwe ko Maun, o ne a boka mopalami wa pitse, ko Mascom derby, a re nennyane ya gagwe.

Motlotlegi mopalamente wa Nata-Gweta, Honourable Lawrence Ookeditse, ke tsene sekolo le ene. Mme nna ga ke kake ka etsa Baherero. Nna ke nale boikarabelo.

I started following attentively Honourable Assistant Minister when he was a Director of Youth.
Back then the youthful Director had a staunch friend from Mathangwane village, whereas the Assistant Minister was from Mosetse village.

They used to tease each other, that either Mathangwane or Mosetse were better of each other.

After leaving his Directorship position, he ventured fully into politics.

Firstly, he embarked on an unimaginable journey challenging the marauding Paulson Majaga in the primaries and lost.

Honourable Majaga was widely reported as the only Parliamentarian authorized by DWNP to campaign using ostrich eggs.

We feared for his life. We were worried that perhaps he would become insane or lose his legs through accidents.

Years later, Honourable Ookeditse won elections and became one of the youthful MPs.

Honourable would frequent his home village of Mosetse.

In the 2025 BFA General Assembly, NEC took a decision to split huge regional associations into smaller manageable regions.

2 of those regions led to the birth of Okavango Regional Football Association and Makgadikgadi Regional Football Association. The latter being part of honourable's constituency.

Mosetse FC then came part of Makgadikgadi. Honourable was frequently seen rallying behind Mosetse FC. Their mission from the onset, was to join the First Division North League.

We are told last week Thursday, the Honourable Minister was officiating at Nata and in the afternoon he had already arrived in Kasane to rally behind Mosetse FC.

This is really commendable from this leader.

After Mosetse FC was crowned champions of the 2025-26 Northern Blocks playoffs, the honourable Minister was captured on video promising that when Mosetse FC finally comes to Shakawe to play against Ndundu Young Fighters Sporting Club, he would ensure he misses Parliament so that he watches the encounter here in the Okavango.

This is a great leader indeed. I wish we had 10 MPs of Ookeditse's caliber.

Long live Stallion.

NB: Pictures attached here were derived from his wall, and were nicely captured in Shakawe, at the Nurse's day and during a boat cruise.

LAST OPPONENT CONFIRMED

Congratulations Mosetse FC on your promotion to the National First Division North League.

You came prepared and it manifested.

Last season, Tonota FC and Enesia FC newly joined the league and promoted immediately to the FNB premier league.

It is also therefore possible with you. You are capable of doing likewise.

Wena ebile you are highly advantageous because you are right there in the middle. From Mosetse to Shakawe, from Mosetse to Kasane and from Mosetse to Mahalapye.

O seka wa hudugela ko Francistown, wa utlwa?

Bangwe ba a tle ba botse gore dibeke di bewa kae? Tlogela dibeke gone ko Kasane koo. Kwano go tlhokega dikhokho le di replica hela.
Banni ba Shakawe ba kgabile kwano. O tle hela ka replica, re tle re apare.

To you Red Stars Football Club, hard luck. Next time, you will go through. Go and work on your mistakes and then come back stronger. Ndundu Young Fighters Sporting Club tried twice and failed. Only on the 3rd attempt that it went through.

Safe journey back home.
