Next up on Freestyle Fridays: Mackenzie Brown Mackenzie Brown is a dance teacher, choreographer, and performer currently studying Communications and Media at Wilfrid Laurier University. Alongside her studies, she is a member of the Wilfrid Laurier University Competitive Dance Team, where she continues to develop her artistry, athleticism, and passion for performance.
Having trained for over 15 years in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and other various styles, Mackenzie has cultivated a strong appreciation for both the technical and artistic sides of dance. Her training has been shaped by a variety of respected educators and programs, including AB Dance, SOL Dance Collective, OPUS Dance Collective, Ace Dance Theatre, and numerous competitive and intensive training opportunities.

As a teacher, Mackenzie is passionate about creating classes that challenge dancers while fostering confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of movement. With over four years of teaching experience and seven years of assisting, she enjoys helping dancers strengthen their technical foundations, particularly in turns, musicality, movement quality, and performance intention.

Whether teaching, choreographing, or performing, Mackenzie strives to create meaningful experiences that encourage dancers to grow both as artists and as individuals.
