Picture Night moves quickly! Please have your player fully dressed and ready 10 minutes before their scheduled photo time.

WHAT TO WEAR
Players should arrive in full hockey gear, top and bottom, without skates, helmet or neck guard. Please bring your hockey stick for photos.

TEAM PHOTOS
There will not be a traditional group photo taken. Team photos will be created using each player and coach’s individual portrait.

Because of this, all players and coaches need to have their photo taken, even if you are not ordering photos. One pose will be taken per player and coach.

FIRST-TIME HOCKEY PARENT? 🏒💛🖤
A few things we wish someone had told us before that first practice:

1. Put your child’s name on their helmet. A piece of hockey tape across the front with their first name is perfect, especially for our littlest Vipers. It helps coaches learn names SO much faster.

2. Label EVERYTHING. Gloves, helmet, stick, water bottle, neck guard, even skates. Hockey gear has a magical ability to all look exactly the same once it hits the dressing-room floor.

3. Get there earlier than you think you need to. Especially for the first few skates. Getting dressed takes longer when everyone is learning, and rushing + hockey equipment is not a fun combination.

4. Practise getting dressed at home. Even once! You’ll figure out what goes where, what needs adjusting and whether anything is missing before you’re standing in an arena dressing room.

5. Fill the water bottle. And get one with a long straw/spout that can fit through their helmet cage.
6. Keep a roll of hockey tape in the bag. Eventually, you’ll understand why. 😂

7. Skate guards OFF before they step on the ice. It sounds obvious until the first time you forget.

8. Air that hockey bag out. Take the gear out when you get home and let it dry. Future you will be very grateful.

9. Let the coaches coach. Cheer them on, encourage them and let them know how much you loved watching them play. They don’t need a post-practice breakdown on the drive home.

10. Your kid does NOT need to have it all figured out. Some kids will fly onto the ice. Some will spend half the practice getting back up. Some might cry. Some might barely touch the puck. They’re learning, and that’s exactly what these early years are for.

Ask questions! Hockey has its own language, routines and unwritten rules, and nobody expects a first-time hockey family to know everything. Coaches, managers, board members and fellow Viper parents are there to help.

Before we even hit the ice for the 2026–2027 season, we’ve got something pretty exciting to share!

This October, our U7–U15 players will have the opportunity to hit the ice with former NHL player Tye McGinn for two Power Skating & Skills sessions!

REGISTRATION UPDATE 🏒

Registration for the 2026–2027 Arthur Vipers season is now CLOSED for most divisions.

We are still accepting registrations for:

If you have a player interested in joining us in either of these divisions, there’s still time to get them registered!
