This year, Sport Aurora's Sport Celebration Committee selected Rocco Colarossi as our 2025 Coach of the Year!

Rocco has been a valued member of Shaolin Martial Arts Canada for 15 years. In that time, he has grown to become a formidable instructor who devotes his time and effort to initiate, develop and grow the sport of Sanda in Aurora.

Rocco has produced many Aurora Provincial and National Champions over the past 3 years, including himself!

On the Friday before the seminar, we had the pleasure of hosting DaShi Shi DeYang, 31st Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk, for an unforgettable Meet & Greet. The evening was filled with breathtaking martial arts demonstrations by Shaolin Martial Arts Canada, Beyond Kung-Fu, and Shifu Lendale Mosley from Big Dipper Boxing. Participants were also able to ask questions to the DaShi!

We were also privileged to have special appearances from:
• A Representative of MPP Michael Parsa (Aurora-Oak Ridges)
• Mr. Yanjun Wang and Mrs. Rongcheung Zhou from the Chinese Consulate

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this incredible event. Your energy and support made the night truly special!

The Canadian Shaolin & ChanWu Alliance humbly thanks DaShi Shi Deyang for flying across the world to share his incredible teachings and wisdom with us. Your presence was truly an honour, and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to learn from you!
