šŸšØā€¼ļøšŸ‘ATTENTION PLEASEšŸ‘ā€¼ļøšŸšØ

Please join us in welcoming a very special member into, you guessed it, The 100 Class Club, COLLEENšŸŽ‰

This lady came to DF in October last year with very common, generic but valuable goals: gain strength, increase cardio. Well, well, well Colleen has created a brand new, badass list of goals including: Strict pull-up, kipping pull-ups, deadlift her bodyweight āœ…, and compete in a CrossFit competition… just to name a few 🤩

She is the epitome of age is just a number - hitting her 100th class on her 61st birthday is no less than inspiring! On top of being a gym rat, Colleen is also known as Dr. Colleen, a veterinarian, specializing in clinical animal behaviour - she’s especially royalty in that world šŸ‘øšŸ¼

Colleen is one of the most humble, charismatic and uplifting people you will ever meet. She is in each and every member’s corner - a constant cheerleader for other’s success. We will warn you, behind that abundance of sincere kindness is a cheeky side šŸ˜ she has a sense of humour that will keep you (and our coaches) on your toes šŸ˜‚

We are so lucky to have this wonderful woman as part of our gym family, keep crushin it Colleen! See you on the competition floor šŸ¤˜šŸ»

This is what earned looks likešŸ”„

Yesterday, Garth got his first bar muscle-up…

Then he got five more🤯

What you didn’t see were the years leading up to it. The countless attempts. The box-assisted reps. The one-legged muscle-ups. The strict pull-ups. The extra practice after class. Showing up week after week, even when progress may have felt slow.

There was no shortcut. Just consistency. Patience. And a refusal to quit.

That’s why moments like this mean so much. They aren’t defined by a single rep, they’re defined by every rep that was practiced before it.

Hard work pays off. Every single time.

Congratulations, Garth. You earned every one of those muscle-ups. šŸ‘Š

A lot of people know DeadSet. Fewer people know the two people behind it.

We’re Chris and Brooke, and we opened DeadSet because we believed Brandon needed something different.

We believed it needed a place where you could walk through the doors and immediately feel welcome. A place where confidence could be built instead of broken down. A place without egos, where no one is made to feel small, and where people work hard BUT don’t take themselves too seriously. The laughs between sets have always been just as important as the workouts themselves.

Our mission has always been simple: improve people’s quality of life through fitness.

We don’t train just to be good at the gym. We train for the moments outside of it. To carry kids without getting tired. To hike mountains. To move furniture. To chase goals. To keep doing the things we love for as long as possible. As CrossFit says, the goal is to increase work capacity across broad time and modal domains—building fitness that’s useful for whatever life throws your way.

Both of us came from athletic backgrounds and found CrossFit-style functional fitness about 10–12 years ago. We believed in the methodology then, and we believe in it even more today because we’ve seen what it does - not just for ourselves, but for all of people who walk through our doors every week.

One thing that’s always been important to us is that DeadSet has never been about us.

We provided the building. We bought the equipment. We handle the schedules, the bills, the maintenance, the cleaning, the programming, and all the unsexy behind-the-scenes work.

But our coaches and our members built the culture.

Every coach who has worn a DeadSet shirt, every member who has walked through our doors, past and present, has left their mark on this place. A special thank you to our Founding Members, who believed in us before the doors even opened. Your trust gave us the confidence to take the leap, and you’ll always be a part of DeadSet’s story.
