I still remember that day so vividly.
The world was in complete disarray. We were living through a pandemic that had changed everything, and somehow, in the middle of all that uncertainty, I was carrying two babies.
The pregnancy was, honestly, horrific. It was hard in ways I could never have imagined, and there were so many moments when I wondered how I was going to make it to the other side. But then came the day they arrived — and somehow, everything went perfectly.
A C-section. Two tiny boys. Two first cries. Two little lives suddenly placed in my arms.
And I will forever be grateful to the incredible team at McMaster Hospital who helped bring my sons safely into this world. You were part of one of the most terrifying, miraculous, unforgettable days of my life, and I will never forget it.
That was the day I became a mother to two boys. 💙💚
(And because apparently I like to live dangerously, I didn’t find out either of their genders before they were born. 😂 So imagine my three-year-old daughter’s face when she discovered that the baby she was waiting to meet wasn’t just a brother… but TWO brothers at once. Talk about a plot twist.)
And now, somehow, those two tiny babies are SIX.
Six years of watching two completely different little people grow side by side.
Two wild six-year-olds.
One is this, and the other is that. They have their own personalities, their own ways of seeing the world, their own strengths, their own quirks, and, occasionally, their own very strong opinions. 😂
But what amazes me most is how brilliantly they bring out the best in one another.
They challenge each other. They make each other laugh. They push each other. They defend each other. They can drive each other absolutely insane — and then, five minutes later, be inseparable again. There is an old saying: “The strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf.”
And maybe that’s what I hope for you most — that you always know you have a pack, that you always have each other, and that no matter where life takes you, you will always have a mother who loves you both fiercely and completely.
