Two new promotions in our Kids's Aikido class. Dylan and Zoey have improved remarkably. Thank you for your hard work.

A short and slightly ridiculous compilation of me suffering at the hands of Miyamoto Sensei—being struck, pinned, stretched, twisted, and submitted in a variety of unpleasant ways.

Humour aside, it was a fantastic opportunity to practise with Miyamoto Sensei and experience authentic Asayama Ichiden-ryū Taijutsu. The training is intense and highly practical, but at the same time remarkably soft and subtle.

For those of us who practise Daitō-ryū or Aikidō, I think there is a great deal to learn from an older koryū tradition like Asayama Ichiden-ryū—particularly its combination of softness, control, and direct martial effectiveness.

Thank you, Miyamoto Sensei, for the wonderful training—and for not breaking me completely.

Basic practice. It never ends. Just keep refining and improving. I am incredibly thankful to have been able to have this experience with Ishikawa sensei this past spring.
