A quick throwback! ⏪🏀

Just 2 years ago, Team Islanders, then known as Pilipinas Islanders, brought 21 athletes to the Maritime League. Looking back, it's incredible to see how much we've grown since that first journey.

Next weekend, we're returning bigger than ever, bringing nearly double the number of athletes as we continue to develop and showcase PEI basketball talent on the Maritime stage.

We're proud of the progress we've made, grateful for the support of our families and community, and excited for what's ahead. Wishing all of our athletes and coaches the very best as they represent PEI with pride!

While Islanders Youth Basketball has grown into a diverse community that welcomes athletes and families from all backgrounds, we proudly recognize and celebrate the Filipino roots that helped shape who we are today.

Today marks the 128th Independence Day of the Philippines, a day to honor the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of those who fought for our nation's freedom and made it possible for future generations to thrive.

Our team was built by a community with strong Filipino roots, and with that comes a deep love for basketball. For many Filipinos, basketball is more than just a game; it is a part of our identity. It brings people together, strengthens communities, and reflects the passion, unity, and resilience that are deeply woven into our culture.

As we celebrate this important day, we honor our heritage with pride and gratitude. We remember those who came before us, whose sacrifices made our freedoms possible, and we continue to share the values and spirit of Filipino culture through the game we love and the team we have built with excellence and heart.
