Mary Anne Chapple (née Reed)
1943 - 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Anne Chapple (née Reed) at the Chatham Hospice following a brief illness.

Born in 1943, Mary Anne was the daughter of the late Herbert Reed and Pearl McKnight. She was sister to Margaret, Penny, and her late brother Christopher.

Mary Anne was mother to Sherry Hiriart (Christian) and Terry Chauvin (Rob Topping). She was a proud grandmother to Christian Hiriart, Mica Sadler, Tania Apolito, Ethan Chauvin, and Avery Chauvin, and was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her joy.

Mary Anne cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Her warm smile and gentle nature touched everyone who knew her.

Mary Anne had a love of reading and could often be found with a book in hand. She enjoyed travelling and created many wonderful memories exploring destinations she loved, particularly Mexico and Florida. She also found great enjoyment in ballroom dancing, where her grace and enthusiasm shone brightly. Whether gathering around a card table with friends or planning her next adventure, Mary Anne loved to laugh.

She will be remembered for her sense of humour, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Chatham Hospice for the exceptional care and comfort they provided during Mary Anne’s final days.

Family to receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary Anne to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
