Here are some more images from our recent visit to Lac Le Jeune Resort. What we love about this place is a list of options which are available for the visitors. Located between Merritt and Kamloops, the drive is reasonably fast for 604ers who want to maximize the down time for a weekend trip. The lake itself offers year-round rainbow trout fishing and it consistently produces quality fish. The bird life in the spring months is a big attraction for the photogs in the family. The resort has a couple of different accommodation options. The cabins have their own kitchen and bathroom, making them the home away from home for those who want to stay for the week. You just want to fish and let someone else taking care of your meals, then stay in a lodge room and dine at the restaurant. As for how the fishing was during our visit last week, check out my latest episode on YouTube.

The story does not end immediately after the fishing trip! During our recent visit to Lac Le Jeune Resort, we brought home several catches to enjoy. These fish were 17 inches in length, in that ideal size range I prefer for harvesting. Due to the diet of these Pennask rainbow trout, the colour of the flesh is usually bright orange and the taste is top notch. Inspired by my friend Lowell who served this to me during my visit to the Yukon Territory last year, I made trout melt on sourdough bread with our harvest. From water to table, this is all part of the invaluable learning experience for our kids on sourcing sustainable, healthy and delicious protein. Click on each photo to read the captions. 😋
Let's see photos of what you have been doing with your catches!
